I was on a business trip to Plovdiv & had just few hours before my flight back home and locals suggested me to invest those few hours in this place and I am glad that the returns were far better than I had imagined. Beautiful hoses and museums transport us back to the Renaissance era. Must visit if you are... More

Reminiscent of the theater of Epidaurus in miniature. It is in the city center and you can easily reach the shops round there.

Plovdiv has all the charm of a city steeped in history. Compared to Sofia which is modern and chaotic. Plovdiv is one of those ancient cities where you can peal back the layers of time and find flavours of the East and West. The city is relatively small and people are more laid back and friendly. It is a very... More

Easy to walk around (can be hilly though) and a lot of sites to see. Best if you have a guide to provide more detail and to show you the best ways to go. Local food and drink is cheap so don't miss out on stopping to socialise.

Had a horrible experience in Sofia- got ripped off by a cab driver. Had a wonderful time in Plovdiv to make up for it. A must go.

Dont bother much about history or the various styles of architecture,; Just walk through the cobbled lanes and alleys lined by many a colourful house and get transported back in time. Wonderful n enchanting!

The old town was something fascinating for me. We started our walk from the bottom of the hill, it would be a good idea to wear sneakers or something comfortable for this hike cause it is quite a walk uphill with a lot of hand placed stones as tiles on the way up. There were a lot of beautiful old... More

A pleasant little town with a lot of history. Unfortunately the real highlight was the shopping. Nice bars to have a drink at and a great cafe for ice-cream and cake at the end of the day.
