Really nice atmosphere! You can definitely feel the old spirit of the city. There are a lot of old vintage shops, galleries, museums and authentic architecture. There are lots of hostels and guest houses in this part of the city as well, so I strongly recommend staying in one of them in order to fully enjoy the experience.

One of the main attractions in the city, the Old Town holds within it deep history, authentic architecture, museums and galleries, ruins and so much more. It takes a good day or perhaps two in order to really explore and make the most of all the separate attractions within it. There are great places to eat or just grab a... More

The old town is a must to visit. The roman theatre is well preserved and you can get a good look of it from the fence, if you dont want to pay for the entrance.Next to the theatre you can find some shops for a coffee or a refreshment.Beware the stone streets demand comfy sneakers!

Went to plovdiv by train from Sofia. We had a great visit once we got our bearings. I suggest going straight to tourist info center and get a map. They have several around town. They can go over where the major sites are. Much better than the map that was in our guidebook. The food was better in Sofia but... More

The longest street in the EU runs perpendicular to Old Town. The shops and buildings are very interesting. Loads of history to be found up and down the streets. Take a local to learn about thousands of years of this great area in Plovdiv.

Interesting area with some good small restaurants, with prices not hiked up for tourist trade. Many little streets are rough cobbles, not ideal for anyone with walking problems or ladies in heels.

The streets and alleys with multi-coloured timber-framed buildings, the Roman amphitheatre looking out over the city, the museums, galleries, churches ... so much to see. And make sure you wander to the very top of the old town for the ruins and a stunning view of the city.

Very nice and really old with some interesting shop of antiquity. Go there with sport shoes. The roads are very old.

I have been in this part of Plovdiv several times, just because of all the things that are there from the Roman time. Its fantastic too walk and touch the roman wall, some statues and all the marble that is several thousand years old. Since I first started visiting Old Town, they have become better and better preserving these important... More
