The Old Town area is very pretty and charming and quaint. A mixture of interesting architecture featuring Bulgarian Revival designs, accented by trees and flowers. A Roman-era amphitheater with nearby cafe's makes a nice place to stop. BUT..... The streets are a maze making driving impossible so you will be walking. And you will be walking on the roughest uneven... More

Be sure to wear serious walking shoes. We have never experienced huge cobblestones like these! The town is so old, very clean, with great efforts at preservation. In April, we were practically alone in many museums. The views are nice at the top, and it is really great to just get lost wandering the old city. The young residents are... More

The old town of Plovdiv in listed as a Unesco site. There are some interesting things to see but in the oldest part of Plovdiv the street is made of old sett and so walking is quite unconfortable. And sometimes there are some hills. Anyway the small effort is greatly recompensate.

I liked very much the the narrow streets, Roman theatre, old houses. The view from the hills is amazing and you feel the thousands years of history there..

Cozy small streets to wander around and lots of sights spread all over town. Nicely lit up at night.

Great short tour! I loved every places we visited, expecially the old town of Plovdiv, but my preferred is the church in Arbanasi. The guide Svet was a clever, helpful and very qualified person. He is able to make you really appreciate the Bulgarian culture. Only a weak point, because the perfection is impossible: the hotel in Gabrovo. Nice and... More

It's magnificent and you can truly feel the spirit of one of the oldest cities in Europe. The old town offers an unforgettable experience and is equipped with lots of souvenir shops , restaurants and parks.

It's a town within downtown Plovdiv. If you travel to, or just passing around-don't miss the opportunity to see this place. It's a mixture of cultures, civilizations and buildings. From Roman empire theater, houses from XVII century, christian church and Muslim mosque. There are paid parking lots around, so if you are driving, you will find a place to stop.
