The scars of history pockmark buildings each side of the bridge and you get the sense that Mostar has always been the bridge between opposing cultures. Either side of the bridge will lead you to either the Croat, or (Muslim) Bosnian populations, who fought viciously with each other during the war. The bridge itself is beautiful, having been reconstructed after... More

The entire Old City is beautiful and charming, but the Old Bridge is a unique place of that old core. If you are traveling alone or in very small group, you can ask your tour guide to show you how to get to the other side of that river. I was there for a few days almost every night and... More

The bridge itself is a replica of the famous old bridge which destroyed in Bosnian war (1993). However this bridge was the most known architecture in Mostar, so it is worth to visit it while walking around.

The old bridge was destroyed in the war, and this one..the new "old bridge" was rebuilt as a symbol of reconciliation and peace..Mostar is very poignant..beautiful, quaint..and driving home the point about the futility of war and conflict..

The Stari Most in Mostar is one of the iconic images of the Balkan wars and a visit to see it is a very moving experience. There's ample opportunity to learn about its destruction and subsequent rebuilding and a strong sense of its incredible importance hangs about the place. The 'divers' are a bunch of crazy people who will negotiate... More

Fairy tale, war and Balkan bazaar at one place. The actual bridge was torn down during the war so the current one is a precise replica. Believe or not, there is also a "diving club" at the bridge with the live performances – men throwing themselves down of the bridge to the river for money. For the best pictures of... More

The old bridge that was destroyed during the Balkan war has been beautifully restored - it is a privilege to be able to walk on it and get stunning views of the surrounding area.

Super famous bridge with a lot of history from the Serbian crisis (just google it). Amazing panoramic views with mosques dotting the surround skyline. A must see for any visit to the area.
