It may look like a bit of urban graffiti writ large, but no other monument expresses the fragile optimism of the world's newest country.

The NEWBORN monument is interesting to see, but two seconds and your done. It's not something I south out, but was happy to come upon it while walking around.

The monument is brilliant and the graffiti artwork is fantastic. A brilliant change to seeing the usual sparkling clean monument but gives out the same message.

A terrific symbol of hope. Found out that it's painted afresh every independence day. Well worth taking a look at.

I guess they repaint it from time to time. When I was there in December 2014, the monument was graffiti'd and vandalised. It's nice, but it's not gonna be the highlight of your trip.

When you are in Pristina, you should get a picture of the "NEWBORN" monument, since it is so well known, and well, there is not that much better to do. Because nothing is well-marked in the city, (no tourist signs, information booths or maps) the easiest way to find it is to walk on Luan Haradinaj Street towards the American... More

Honestly nothing special. Concrete, paint, people passing by. You don't notice it is a monument. Just a place where people walk by. Possibly having a coffee on one of the terraces, but there are thousands of better places near by.

The Newborn monument is a perfect way to show off that Kosova is finally independant and therefore newborn in a way, from February 2008.

This iconic monument is a must-see for anyone visiting Pristina. A great photo opportunity. Re-painted regularly with a new theme. Current theme is camouflage + bullet holes (??).
