it was full of tourists, but it looked nice and we took our time visiting, no tax at the entrance, close to the centre, very emblematic for the city

This fortress breaths in the spirit of all the nations that have gone through it. Celts, Romans, Turks even Germans were here. You could have a coffee here, even eat some traditional Serbian food. Also, you can walk around fortress walls which gives you spectacular view around city. During august, in this fortress is being held one of the biggest... More

Adjacent to the outdoor market place, this historic structure is expansive and well maintained throughout with various points of interest to admire or tour along the way. Food and drink can be obtained and there are plenty of spots to rest one's feet.

If you want to relax or just lay in open air- you are welcome here. There were a lot of trains for children that were travelling around. If you like history here you will find a lot of such places to visit. and also you can touch them, climb.

Beautiful old fortress which has been rebuilt several times. There are remnants of old roman structures inside and a lovely park. The amphitheater is quite interesting and there are music festivals here at times.

The fortress of Nis, gives an average viewing if to be compared with Belgrade Fortress. Here at Nis, the horticulture side of things are not well maintained i.e grass cutting, tree surgeon, plant maintenance. The greenery is the face of the fortress that cannot be ignored. A very good point though, is the history of the site which is scattered... More

You are surrounded by history. This is outstanding place for learning about the past and feeling centuries passing around you. 500 Years under Turks, elements left in language, food, architecture, customs etc... Before them, Romans.... Nis as a center point for Romans, then fall in to Turkish hands. So much History. Must see in Nis. really must see. Next to a... More
