Beautiful park situated in a Fortress with lots of monuments from different periods, mostly Otoman rule in southern Serbia. There are few bars that are suitable for a coffee during the day but also work as pubs/clubs during night. Must see while in Nis.

It was a very hot day & our time was limited so we got in the little train that runs around the grounds, we had the entire vehicle to ourselves & the man was happy to set off with payment of 200 dinars for my sister & i. If we'd have had more time we'd have walked around & explored... More

This is a really nice green space in the heart of the city. There is an amphitheater used for summer concerts and films. Nearby is a nice cafe for a coffee on the terrace. There are a few historical sites as well as stone artifacts housed within the fortress, and one can walk on the walls for nice views over... More

Very interesting place, steeped in history, plenty of bars and restaurants and places to relax, as well as a nice park to stroll around and the river and city centre nearby.

Walking through the gardens of the fortress was very popular with the local people, and students. If you carry straight on you will come to the Concentration Camp, which is not well signposted, but also worth a short visit.

Thay not some big or representative exhibits but thay are very important in architecture, history and art.So much there is not exhibits, so will be good to inform about all that before... More

I have visited this place several times with my son, there is something on offer from young and old. In the summer the place is alive with the music from the Jazz Festival. There is a tourist information desk at the gate where they speak English and are more than helpful. They let us leave our luggage there once for... More

Apart from the gateway and the mosque, there is little so see, albeit I did not visit the Skull Tower. It is a pleasant stroll in the park, and there are a few roman gravestones, but nothing of great interest and not much information. .

The mark of Nis, the Fortress is a must for all who come to Nis, a place to rest, to enjoy the nature, to see the cultural artifacts dating far back into the history, to talk with friends over a cup of coffee in some of the cafes, to listen to modern, jazz, rock, classical and other types of music,...
