In this part of the world there is a walled city in every port. However, this is a nice one, not the best, but if you are in Kotor, you must go. Don't go just for the old town though.

The Old Town is Kotor is one of the most beautiful places I've visited. Charming streets, relaxing atmosphere, magnificient view of the Kotor Bay. Moreover, it is easy to get there from Budva by bus.

I went on a day trip from Dubrovnik to Montenegro and the highlight of the trip was Kotor. This is a small walled city with winding streets and a great atmosphere-it really invites you to explore it.The whole city can be seen in 1-2 hours,so it makes more sense to see it as part of a trip around Montenegro, rather than a... The Old Town is beautiful with amazing views. WE loved strolling around in the evening, listening to lovely music outdoors, and eating delicious food. The walk over the town up to the fortress is gorgeous.

Kotor old town is like a mini Dubrovnik - old and beautiful, and surrounded by mountains and city walls. It's far less crowded though. We hired a local guide who had an amazing knowledge of the history of the area, which really made it come alive. If you drive to Kotor from the direction of Croatia, the views are stunning,... More

Stopped here whilst on a cruise and so glad we did! Set in surrounding mountains and right at the water's edge - simply stunning as you sail in. The Old Town itself is beautiful with it's cobbled streets, churches and squares. There is a walk up the mountain via over a thousand steps and wish we had time to do... More

We've visited quite a few stari bar on our travels in Europe and this is by far one of the best ones. Full of charm, relaxing and interesting. Would love to go back! Stay in the old town if you have a chance.

This a beautiful walk up the side of the mountain. Its approx. 1,350 steps but very rewarding once you reach the top. The views are spectacular and was one of the highlights of our day. Well worth the trip so don't miss out.

The Old town of Kotor is a dream location with beautiful old cobbled streets and squares with an abundance of reasonably priced restaurants to enjoy people watching and take in the atmosphere and scenery. We stayed at The studio Aki apartments near Dobrata which is a 15 minute walk from the old town where the accommodation was superb. No wonder... More
