The old city is a great outing , wether you spend an hour or five . Yes, it does get quite full of tourists so if you find that irritating go early . The cobblestone paths amongst the beautiful old buildings are fabulous and enchanting . There are also tons of little shops selling clothing , bags, shoes, jewellery and... More

I'm hesitant to write this, because I want t to remain a secret as best it can be. We ended up staying 5 nights in total inside the old city walls. It's like something out of a story book and exactly the type of charm one imagines for genuine older Europe. Tight cobble stone streets in a what feels like... More

It is an good example of an old city in italian-croatian style (like Dubrovnik and many other old-cities in the area). Plenty of cafes for different tastes & purses, picturesque views and many small shops with gifts for your friends and family. half of the day is more that enough to explore the place.

The cruise ship traverses a long Fjord to get to this medieval walled city but the views on the journey are splendid. We docked just 50 yards from the main City entrance. This not a big town but it has plenty of ancient streets and churches to explore. At the back of the town you can climb a very ramshackle... More

We visited the old town many times during our six night stay in Kotor and never got tired of it. There are three entrances, East gate, West gate and the main entrance, Sea gate which is on the main road opposite all the moored boats. Inside it is a maze of traffic free narrow cobbled streets and several open squares... More

Great little town with a lot to offer but not so crowded as Dubrovnik. Definitely recommend the trip to the church above the old town because of the great view, especially in the morning.

While Kotor is the more advertised place in Montenegro (probably), I found it too touristy, lacking stunning buildings and with not the same charm that I found instead in nearby Budva old town. It's still a beautiful town and well worth a visit but overall it lacks the panoramic views you have in Budva or the artistic importance of Dubrovnik... More

We visited old town Kotor for a couple of hours in an organized tour, that moment when you wish you came on your own and had all the time to stay overnight. Its a charming downtown, with live street music performances, lots of souvenir shops(do not buy from the ones near the entrance - prices get lower as you go... More

The bay of Kotor is a beautiful fiord-like inlet with a gem of a town at its far end. Old town Kotor is a very interesting example of a historical walled town and the maze of narrow streets reveals many pleasant surprises. Beyond the town, taking the mountain road, with its numerous switchbacks, offers a very rewarding view of the bay... More
