Visiting Novi Sad is a must. If you visit Belgrade, do not miss the opportunity to visit Novi Sad. The town is simply beautiful. The castle, the magnificent cathedral, even the architecture of the old houses is a feast for the eyes. We rented a car from Belgrade but buses can easily take you there. The trip is a wonderful... From the old town you need to cross the river to go up to the fortress (did it by car). Up there you can find shops, a good café and ample parking space. The view is interesting, not too spectacular though. You can spot St. Mary cathedral and a destructed bridge in the Danube.

One more thing, they have a clock tower, but the... More

Since I live in Novi Sad, this is a place that I enjoy the most, especially in spring when I can relax and overlook the city center and Danube river. Drink a coffee, go out, or just take a walk. Fortress is the first thing that I mention to my foreign friends when they ask me about Novi Sad.

Since it was winter, and fairly cold, we just strolled around the periphery of the fort, and we were told about the tunnels, and the drunken clock. We had lunch on the terrace (covered and heated).
