We decided to walk over from the city centre and if only for the views back to the city alone, it is worth it.
Whilst there we also ate in one of the restaurants and whilst this was more expensive than in town, it wasn't obscenely more expensive.

The Petrovaradin Fortress overlooks both Petrovaradin (the town on the right side of the Danube) and Novi Sad. You can have a walk on the walls of the fortress and enjoy the view of the city and of the Danube, which is very big here!
I gave it a 3 star just because you can't actually access many areas there including the churches. All I was able to is walk around the fortress, view from the top to take pics, have lunch and taking more pics. I could not find where the entrance is for the underground tunnels.

old castle in Austria style which remeber us for the past times when this part of Serbia was border between Turkey Otoman Empire and free western world.. it is witness of history and settled in beatifil city of Novi Sad.
I go to walk there with my dauther,, wife and dog, when ever I have oportunity. It's well preserved, nice romatic atmosphere spiced with ateliers of nummerous painters. Nice wiev on Novi Sad, several decent restaurants.
