An impressive historical site providing insights into region's history over thousands of years. Guided tour brings this complex to life.

As the guy in the hotel said, this is the one unmissable sight in Novi Sad. It's more than just a historical monument, it's a lively setting for bars, artists' studios, a restaurant, hotel and design shop, all with a fantastic view of the city across the Danube, which is flat as a pancake. It's a bit like looking at... More

I like the view and the walk here. There is also a lot of cafes and restaurants where you can take a quality rest and enjoy the beautiful view to the river. I noticed a local bus that can bring you here from the city center, I think the number was 9, if you don't like to walk all the... More

We spent an afternoon wandering around the fortress area, and it was very nice. This is also the location of Novi Sad's annual EXIT festival - it must be very different up here in the height of summer! There are a few cafes and also artists' studios here - the city lets the artists use the space (I believe for... More

We decided to walk over from the city centre and if only for the views back to the city alone, it is worth it. Whilst there we also ate in one of the restaurants and whilst this was more expensive than in town, it wasn't obscenely more expensive. Its well worth taking a few hours out of your stay in... More

The Petrovaradin Fortress overlooks both Petrovaradin (the town on the right side of the Danube) and Novi Sad. You can have a walk on the walls of the fortress and enjoy the view of the city and of the Danube, which is very big here!

I gave it a 3 star just because you can't actually access many areas there including the churches. All I was able to is walk around the fortress, view from the top to take pics, have lunch and taking more pics. I could not find where the entrance is for the underground tunnels. The view is wonderful both day and... More
