I haven't seen a performance but visited the building. Now I understand why straight after completion in 19th century they called it the dragon which swallowed a jewel: classical outside it's lavishly decorated inside.

I didnt get inside but from the outside building is beautiful. I also took a view from Panorama hotel which is just near this building (they have restaurant on the top and You can see Theater from other perspective). It also looks great in the evening

I came in August when the opera is not playing so we were limited to a tour of the opera house. Historic and beautiful. The guide was excellent and described the history of the opera house, the famous opera players. On my next trip to Lviv, I will be sure to visit during the season (Sep-Jul). Best house seats are... A truly magnificent building, ornate and beautiful. We went to the ballet one evening it was very good. It cost 80 Uah about 3 Euros per person (there were cheaper tickets). You can visit outside of performances for a tour though I don't know the cost.

The building is charming and a pleasure to watch an operetta in. We sat high up and on the side. We basically could see only 60% of the state. However it was still a lot of fun to see the operetta. They seem to know this and try to keep most of the key action in the center of the... More

If you are in Lviv, Ukraine and if you have time, visit the ballet. This place is so ornate and the dancers magnificent. This is a very inexpensive evening out as well.

A girl I met on the bus going to Lviv recommended that I eat at this place. It's a nice restaurant in the center of Lviv, underneath the Opera House itself. If you're facing the opera house from the square, the restaurant is actually on the right hand side. You will find a door that leads you downstairs into the... More

Well worth a visit!! If you don't want to see the ballet or an opera you can take an afternoon tour with a guide who truly loves the place
