Very nice Cathedral, very peacful place. You have to take care how dressed you are, can't come in in short panths and T shirt. Lady got to have something to cover hair and lady: don't wear high heals :) Old town is in stone, like you walk on the ice.

I am never any good at following the crowds but I was glad to overhear a guide tell her group to look at all the faces on the outside wall of the cathedral. The funny thing was that there was a french man who insisted (rightly) on having his profile photographed in front of his stone twin!!! The baptism crypt... More

This cathedral is not large but has some very interesting architecture given that it was built over 100 years and by two different architects. The inside is undergoing some major work, but you can still get an idea of the atmosphere of the building. Some very large side altars and a unique baptistery. It sits in a beautiful square and... This cathedral is amazing! When we visited it was undergoing restoration, but the majority of the church could be seen. Multiple beautiful alters and fantastic stonework. Go see it!

The jewel of Šibenik. Beautiful stone cathedral, the best feature is Šibenik. Do not miss the baptistery, which is hidden inside. Some comment said that you need to be covered to enter: true, but if you are not, there are shawls provided for that matter.

As the first part of a visit to old Sibenik. This is a great place to start. Be sure to walk fully around the perimeter and check out all the faces around the outside.

The Cathedral is the draw, but the town is worth a full day to explore. Be sure to have a local guide who can set the context for visiting the cathedral and to point out the interesting architectural features which would be easy to miss for the casual tourists. Most interesting are the faces carved on the exterior of the... More

This little Cathedral is stunning and must be seen! I particularly liked the detailed marble font and entrance decorative door.

The Cathedral mentioned in the title is an interesting place alright but it is the TOWN of Sibenik which is the real jewel. It is an amazing town steeped in history. There are wonderful cafes and restaurants with excellent sea food dotted around its smooth stoned streets, many far to narrow for traffic.. Sibenik is also the gateway to the... More
