A nice fountain with cold fresh water

The fountain is fed from under ground streams and provides nice cool water. On a really hot august day its a great way to wet a towel and cool yourself down a bit. Many people... read more

The big fountain is a meeting point for tours etc and one end of the main street. It's just a big fountain, not particularly pretty but you can refill your water bottle here as the water is the same as that which goes into hotels etc.

The fountain is fed from under ground streams and provides nice cool water. On a really hot august day its a great way to wet a towel and cool yourself down a bit. Many people were also filling their water bottles. Not sure I'd advise that - even if it is string ged, the microbes they are used to might... More

Visiting Dubrovnik in July, I thought it a mirage everytime I saw this fountain. You'll thank the heavens for this, as you can drink and refresh here. You'll do it very often.

The Onophrian Fountain is one of the first landmarks you see as you arrive in the Old Town, situated just inside Pile Gate. Its a good place to meet friends and family and you can drink the water in the fountain.....yes dont worry....it was built for that very purpose. Just ask the locals.

This is where people meet, once inside the gate. It is also possible to drink the water or fill your bottle. This is the place where we started our walk on the wall.

Built by an architect to provide clean drinking water to the people in Dubrovnik center still operates today. After coming down from the city wall, the cool water coming out of the faces embedded into the fountain was the best I've ever had. This is the bigger fountain by one o the entrances to the old city; there's a smaller... More

This fountain is right after Pile gate and the first thing you see when you enter the old town. It is also the place where the tour on the walls starts and ends. We kept our empty water bottles so we could fill them here after walking the walls. The water is cool and tastfull.

Most landmarks are just that "Landmarks". at least here you can enjoy a cool drink of water that has come all the way from the mountains. Everyone comes here for a drink, get their photo taken and to enjoy the view down the Stradun, so come on and join in.

This was our main place to fill up our water bottles. As it was hot when we visited we really appreciated the cold water from the fountain to refresh us. We visited the fountain for fresh water at least twice a day. It is very well used for refreshment. It is the main focal point of the square in which... More
