From here you can take a boat trip to the island of Lokrum. There is a nice restaurant where you can enjoy a drink and some tasty food.

Perfect for sitting, looking at the fish in the clear water, watching the fisherman and some nice little restaurants. Quiet and tranquil.

Worth the visit just to see all the fish. We have never seen such clear water in a harbour. A useful supermarket (Konzun) there, too.

We walked the city and the hills above. it's an amazing place. I loved it. and the people were very nice and helplful with our efforts to... More

i was checking in with a pre-paid ticket to sail to bari on an overnight boat route, so you need first to check in at the Jadrolinija office, which is in the city 15-20 min walk (up to 30min with a bag) near the customs building. only then you can go to port and check in and pass the passport... It is worth taking a boat trip out of the harbour, to any island, just for the photo opportunities that this will present. If you turn around when leaving the harbour you will be treated to se the massive defensive walls rising up behind you. Whilst these were originally built many hundreds of years ago, what you see now has... More

The city was a trading center during the Renaissance and the harbor was its gateway to the world. What is unique about it is that, unlike old harbors every place else, this one has not been changed since 1669! No landfill, no extensions or additions. It provides a unique look at what a working port of that period looked like.... More
