Just the right size for a stroll across the islad to Sunj beach. Nice shady cafe with pleasant service. Great views of beach and adriatic. Toilets. Showers. Buggy from Lokud 15 kuna one way.

We got a speed boat out to this island which was great fun. It was a beauiful sunny day. The island was quiet. We walked around and had lunch in a lovely restaurant on the sea front. We walked to the beach on the other side of the island. The beach is very pretty but small and already very touristy. The rest of the island is quaint - but I wouldn't want to live there. Lovely to visit, though!

The sunbeds will cost you £6 each even though you will only have an hour there as it's a 20 min walk each way across the island. Although you can get a lift with a golf buggy, not sure of the cost.

We went to Lopud Island on the ferry, which leaves from Gruz harbour. You get tickets from the Jadrolinija office in the harbour. We had a day trip to Lopud from Dubrovnik. Worth a walk to the opposite end of the island to see Sunj beach (sandy beach with a small amount of surf) The cafes/bars along the front are also very nice.

The public bus (from Pile Gate) and ferry journeys were fun. Out of season Lopud was deserted with only one cafe open which did drinks and no food. We walked past a bakery and a small shop after getting off the boat but they had closed by the time we realised the situation and hurried back. Luckily we had brought...
