The shun beach is opposite side of the island from the harbor. You can either use a small car for 20 kuna to drive you there or go on foot, it's not so far so i preferred to walk.

If you're in Dubrovnik or in Slano, you have to book the one day trip cruis to the Elaphite islands. It's absolutely magic and you wont regret it. Lopud is sooooo beautiful!

This is a beautiful island and perfect for rest and recuperation. We would definitely go back and hopefully very soon. Getting the ferry to the mainland is very cheap and easy we found. There are no cars on the island but we did not miss them for a minute, as the walks around the island are great. Some walks are... More

Lopud is the 2nd of the 3 main Elafiti Islands (after Kolocep and before Sipan), and is supposed to be the prettiest. It's not hard to see why people say that. Such a range of biodiversity. Goats, cats, butterflies, crickets, even a Praying Mantis (which climbed up my arm). As well as so many flowers. A naturalist's paradise. Plus a... More

The island of Lopud is good for a boat trip and should be visited only if you have time. We had 11 days in Dubrovnik, so plenty of time to go around. Instead of paying for the traditional 3 islands cruise, we went to the port of Lapad and took the ordinary Jadrolinska catamaran which serves the islands. Much more... More

The island boasts one of the oldest Franciscan Monestaries; however, when we got to the front door, it was closed!! Apparently the diocese of Dubrovnik does not have the funds to maintain the property (nor was there a donation request!) the building looks magnificent on top of the hill at one point of the island. We did not go over... More

One of those places where you cannot go wrong. If you are around, it is definitely not a bad choice.

The island Lopud is worth of visiting, but only Lopud. We bought the three island cruise package, which didn´t give us the value for money. The cruise took the whole day and most of it was only waiting. The two other island was only numbers in the brochuse, without nothing to see or do.

Lopud is an elaphite island. After Kolocep it is the next island. Me and my boyfriend were staying in Dubrovnik so we bought a bus ticket from the ticket kiosk which cost 12 Kuna each, to go to the ferry terminal, Gruz at Lapad. You can't by return tickets for the bus you have to buy the next one either... More

We stayed on Lopud for one night to escape the high costs of Dubrovnik hotels. The ferry to Dubrovnik only took one hour and ran regularly throughout the day. Lopud has a leisurely feel about it as it is free of cars. The hotel staff get around in golf buggies. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants overlooking the sea,... More
