Having never been to Croatia before and only having done a bit of research on where to go, two friends and I decided on Lopud. What a great choice! It's the perfect size; enough (lovely) restaurants for a week or so, a sandy beach if that's your thing, miles of paths, secluded rocky spots from which to swim, not too... More

When all the places in Dubrovnik are too busy and you are struggling to relax... then get on a boat and go to Lopud in 35 mins (can do cheap ferry or day trip with all conveniences including lunch for about 30euro min). You must go to Sunj one of the greatest braches in the adriatic, and then relax...

Probably spoiled by the look of the water, we did not particularly enjoy the fiesta style environment and vi be at the sandy beach, but stay on your boat some thirty feet away from shire, and enjoy the crystalline waters and snorkeling ... Magic!

We had been advised to trek across the island to the sandy beach which is a 20 minute hike through the forest however when we got there is was heaving with people and stacked full of sun beds, we stayed for 20 minutes and decided to head back to the old town which was much prettier and quieter. If you... More

The only way to get here is by boat. The harbour is beautiful and there are many bars and restaurants to eat. There are lovely sandy beaches which are gently shelving and are ideal for children. You can walk up to the old church and have lovely views over the harbour

Enjoyed swimmming in the Mediteranean and was one of the few locations with Sandy Beaches! Was a great way to spend the afternoon.

Peaceful and attractive. BUT be warned, there are no beaches in the area, which we missed. Too rocky to swim in the sea

We visited Lopud as part of a three island tour of the Elaphiti Islands. We had about 2 1/2 hours here, and walked around the harbour area a little bit before walking across the island to Sunj beach. This is a lovely sandy beach (something of a rarity in these parts) with very shallow bathing for some distance out to... More
