The old town is nice, but way too commersialised and to busy with tourists. Probably a lot better in the off-season. Nice food though.

The city has been lovingly preserved and restored after the war in the 1990s. An amazing place, full of history.

Still recognised the Placa, fountains and the old harbour despite the 1990's war...The city wall walk is unique!

Very old! Lost of winding streets and small side streets to escape the heat and crowds. Gets very crowded

Try to avoid times when the cruise ship coaches are arriving; usuallt mid morning I think. Lovely to walk around at this time of year but I should imagine could be very hot and uncomforatable when crowded and hot.

We stayed in an apartment in Old Town and are very glad we did. Dubrovnik is just a great relaxing town to hang out in and drink wine, eat food, and lick gelato. I really enjoyed it here.

I visited Dubrovnik as part of a cruie in October. We took the local bus into the old town from the port. We changed some money at the Port but apart from the bus which only took the local currency, other places took either that or Euro's. The old town was busy but not swamped by people from the cruise... More

The town has been immaculately restored after being bombed in the war and is clean and very easy to get around, There are excellent jewellery and art shops and plenty of good eating. The locals are friendly.
