There is a very laid-back feel to this walled city, despite the number of tourists wandering the streets. Take the time to sit at the water's edge and watch the world go by, or at one of the little cafes perched high on the cliff's edge outside the wall. Not as much to see when you wander as in other... Within the city walls of the old town and of the Main Street are a maze of narrow streets full of restaurants, shops, churches and museums. We found the people to be very friendly and found the town to be well worth a visit

Beautiful old town with lovely buildings, cathedral, churches and hidden treasures in the little streets of the main strip. Lots of nice bars, restaurants and ice cream parlour at the harbour where you can watch the world go by. Very relaxing place to explore, even has a Christmas shop! Can get very busy with tourists so try early if possible.

I have travelled to many places and this has to be one of the best sights I have ever seen, hard work on the feet but well worth the effort

You could just spend time sitting watching people go past, museums, harbour, restaurants and so many different alleys to choose from, very clean and pretty, great place to visit will go back.

The old town in Dubrovnik is simply beautiful. It is absolutely worth the visit and a meander around. Park in the Old Town Garage on your way down the one way street that gets you down to the waterfront as its a reasonable 20kn an hour (approx 3€) as opposed to 40kn an hour closer to the entrance of Old... Had a wonderful time here. I felt the most effective way to make the most of the time allowed off the cruise ship is to hire a taxi for 100 Euros. There were four of us so it was well worth and for a fraction of the cost of what cruise company would charge you. This allowed us to cover... More

I went here and enjoyed it very much. I liked the museums, the ring wall and a lot of other things. The things I had hard time with was the lack of info. If you don't have a guide and you're not well read on dubrovnik you won't really know what you're looking at. The day I visited the Internet... More

Main street was quite slippery and I saw a couple of people fall down, Good selection of restaurants and gift shops. Ice cream ok but have had a lot better in other countries. Very steep side streets

The old city is a real jewel and the main attraction, but as a coastal resort, with lots of wonderful hotels, restaurants and bars, and just lovely, warm and friendly people, who seem genuinely pleased that you have visited, it's hard to think of anywhere better to scape to or explore. And good value too.
