Croatia is definitely one of the most beautiful European countries and it has lots of scenic natural corners to pamper your vacation with a wealth of beautiful experiences. One of them is National park Mljet. Beautiful island.

We stayed here for 2 weeks for our honeymoon. We actually didn't hire bikes, prefering just to hike and swim. The lakes are beautiful and a joy to swim in. I would say that if you are staying a bit longer its worth getting a map off the tourist info and exploring the trails and mountains and peninsulas, all of... More

The island of Mljet is absolutely stunning. We visited middle of September and the weather was fabulous. The island is beautifully green and lush. We caught the catamaran from Dubrovnik seaport at 9.15am. We bought our tickets at 8.45am and there were only a handful of seats left so be careful. Getting there a little earlier would have enabled us to... More

It is relatively easy to get to Mljet from Dubrovnik. A local bus return to the main port from old town is 30 Kn. Buses leave at 8:15am, to make the 9:15am ferry to Mljet. Tickets only go on sale 1hour before the ferry departs at 9:15. We travelled with G&V line. Return tickets were 140Kn each to Mljet. You... More

The national park and the 'lakes' make for a beautiful nature experience. The water is so crystal clear & relatively warm. Like others I recommend hiring a kayak. We did this in soline and paddled from there to the 'small lake' and back. Was a great way to spend the day with a stop off on the way for lunch... More

We visited Mljet on our 4th day in Dubrovnik. We got the catamaran from the harbour, arriving at 8.15am to get tickets for the 9.15am departure. I'm glad we did, for peace of mind really, as it was busy but then there were also empty seats on the boat. Although I didn't have a window seat the boat ride was... More

Get to the port early to secure tickets on the nona ana from Dubrovnik , as these cannot be secured in advance. Great day out, ensure you hire bikes to explore right around the lake, otherwise you are limited to the crowded area where the bus drops off. Lots of great spots for swimming, the island is beautiful and we... More

We read mixed reviews of Mijet, but decided to do it anyway, and have to say were pleansently surprised. It has plenty to do there. There is an abandoned monastery, little gardens, lookout points, a huge Fort with amazing views over to Dubrovnik. A little cave and lots of spots to swim. The water is absolutely amazing. There are a... More

After reading other reviews, this was on my to do list. As it rained we were unsure whether to go. However on a thundery rainy day we went to the Island on the Nona Ana Catamarran. It does take 3 hours to get there and back but such a wonderful place to visit. When we got to the Island the... More
