A Jimmy Buffett kind of place. Laid back and not too crowded. Nice beach and cold beer. Ride a bike or a scooter and take your time. Sunset was killer.

A beautiful island, all green and blue. It's very relaxing to sail around. The small fishing villages are picturesque and calm. Good food and wine everywhere. It's a pure pleasure to spend a few days on the island.

Beautiful beaches, great shopping and great eating. We were on a boat tour for 7 days so we were able to get off and take our time going around the island.

Nothing to dislike. We spent a great day cycling round the lake stopping frequently for photo opportunities and for a drink near the "ferry". Fantastic swim across to the monastery although we stayed in the water as we were in swim wear. Dinner was lobster and fish straight from the tank in the restaurant. The lobster was beautiful and obviously... More

Mljet is really a nice island, very green and wild still with a natural park inside, or at least this is how it is called. We spent one week in Pomena, one of the small harbours of the island inside the park, where unfortunatly also charters 30mt long can moore. Charters moore side by side even 16 in one row... More

Beautiful island (I agree with all the wonderful reviews it has had) relaxing, beautiful, and vast however..... 1) you need a full day at least. The island is huge and it takes a while to get to the national park (if thats your destination) 2) you do not need to walk/cycle to the big lake/small lake within the national park... More

If you want to get away from the crowds this is the thing to do. Even in high season(July) in baking heat it was quiet. I would love to come back and stay on the island to explore more. That said, 9.15 boat from dubrovnik 5.30 return gives you a lovely taste of the island. We got off at the... More

Leave Dubrovnik behind and have a day trip to remember for ever unless you can come back and stay here. Just go and walk to the lakes swim in them take a picnic to eat under the trees get the mini bus back and have a refreshing drink before the Nona Anna takes you back to the hustle and bustle.

If you like nature, beautiful scenery and tranquility... Along with cycling, swimming and walking, then Polace. Mljet National Park is your ideal location! We stayed in Polace for three days and wish we'd booked for longer! We hired bikes for two days (make sure you get a good price... We ended up paying less than half the price quoted from... More
