You get a fantastic overview of the old city and can look down on real life.Quite a unique activity, walking around the beautiful medieval walls of the Old Town and for someone who loves history it was a real joy, made all the better for the fact it wasn't busy on the day we took our stroll and the sun... or should that be what a series of views - both inwards: looking over the red-tiled roofs, down the sloping alleyways and into peoples tiny little gardens; and outwards over the old harbour or along the coast. several little bars to rest at along the coastward side. we did them in April and quite crowded if there's a cruise ship... Walking the City Walls gives a great overview of the city, and also provides some good exercise if you've been eating ice-cream and cakes in Dubrovnik! We were there in the first week of April, which meant that firstly it wasn't too hot, and secondly you could move at a good pace without having to shuffle along with all the... More

This is the must do of Dubrovnik, arrived late afternoon after all the cruise passengers had left the old town. Wandered around the old town and wall without all the extra tourists and got all the amazing photos without people in every photo. Do it first thing in the morning or around 5pm in the afternoon.

You get a fantastic overview of the old city and can look down on real life. Helps to get your bearings too. It should be the first thing you do.

We visited during Easter Weekend - April 21 and the old city was already packed with tourists who are shopping and dining. Even so, its still amazing to be in such a city without cars and traffic. Around every corner seems interesting, but we were always seeking for the quietist alley ways. Then we walked the wall. It was expensive... More

It was an absolutely stunningly beautiful day when I walked the city walls of Dubrovnik. The views are breathtaking, the experience really great. I recommend on a not too hot day though, bringing lots of sunblock and water! :)

Walking the walls was much more enjoyable than I had imagined: on one side you've got views of the city, on the other you've got the sea and island, and all the time you wander into forts and museums (and one or two places to stop for a drink). It probably helped that we had perfect blue weather, but it's... More

Fantastic views all round the Old Town from the walls to the towers and fort. Very well maintained and good value for money (£12). Very close to several houses and gardens.

You get a great view of the old town - not for the faint hearted as there are some areas where if you suffer from vertigo you might feel a bit strange! Well worth the trip
