Got the boat from the harbour at 10am and spent the entire day on the island. Walked around most of it and up to the fort - in flip flops which weren't ideal as the paths are very rough and ready. Pizza lunch at the monastery was delicious and then spent the afternoon sun bathing in The Rocks and swimming... More

We headed to the port in the old town and bought a ticket to get to Lokrum, there's just one guy that sells them so you don't feel haggled in any way, cost about 70 kuna each I recall so a cheap day out. The service is regular and dependable. We hiked straight up to the fort on arrival, and... More

This island delivers more than you expect. It's hard to book a full day out of your Dubrovnik trip - but if you can I reckon this is a great place to spend it if you can. Pack a picnic and some drinks, cruise along the walkways, scramble the rocks, take a swim, find a quiet shady spot for some... More

A quick ferry ride, but a different perspective of the Old Town and wall. Best views from Fort Royal, bit of a hike, but well worth it.

This was a nice little side-trip from the Old City but don’t expect to find a lot to do on the island- it’s very small and mostly forest. We went because we fancied a boat trip and it is worth paying the £7 return ticket just to get the opportunity to get a few good photos of the harbour from... More

Nice place for a calm walk, couple of nice places to swim as well. Don't eat on the island if you looking for a good meal though. Loads of peacocks and rabbits as well as a botanical garden and many Game of Thrones sets!

The price of the boat is not much and most definitely worth it. There are breathtaking views as you go across the sea to the island and this does not lessen as you land on Lokrum. Never before been greeted by three wild peacocks but they are all over the island. Amazing views everywhere, lots of places to go and... More

The ferry was just as advertised. Be ready for some pleasant strolling and some rough hiking, some of the trails are "paved" with large stones, hard on the feet. There are a couple of places to get food/drink, and the restaurant closest to the ferry dock had a wonderful guitarist.

Wow this is such a gorgeous island - for a small fee from the man in the harbour (think about £5) you get taken to the island and then catch one of the boats coming back (every 30 mins). I do not like water at all but the boats and clean and well maintained and water is lovely and clear.... More

Absolutely adored this beautiful little oasis. We were told about it by a waiter in Dubrovnik and although a bit reluctant at first, I am forever glad we went! It is just a short boat ride away (boats are quite frequent - in the summer at least) and when you arrive all sorts of wonders await. We spent our day... More
