The island is quiet and peaceful - a nature reserve and covered in a variety of trees. There are the ruins of a monastery, and, at the top of the island, the ruins of an Austro-Hungarian fort. (There are also beaches, including one for naturists, but we didn't sample any of these.) So, a real treat - but a couple... More

A very interesting destination just 15 minutes from Dubrovnik old town port. Walking around this island is peaceful - you can take a short swim - have a beer, pizza or both and enjoy the island.

This was my favourite place in Dubrovnik. Stunningly beautiful, peaceful and varied for multiple audiences. You can get the boat to Lokrum from the old town. It is a short journey and cost around £7 in August 2014. Definitely worth it for a special day out in pristine nature.

When you go to Croatia, you must visit an island. If - like me - you don't have a huge amount of time then the closest one to Dubrovnik is Lokrum Island. It is only a 10 to 15 minute boat ride from the pier at Dubrovnik and the cost of the island visit and the boat ride return is... More

It's an intersting nature place, but there's not much to do. Maybe just relax and stay there... The water is beautiful, but there are beaches in Dubrovnik much nicer, so it was just ok.

We went near the end of the day. Quiet and uncrowded. Not that much to see but nice. Follow paths but don't miss the last boat as you will be camping out for the night unexpectedly if you do.

We took the ferry out to Lokrum today, the weather was lovely thought we'd walk around and find somewhere to swim and maybe do some cliff jumping... Took about 30mins to scout out the swimming places and if you are happy sitting on rocks and like a little challenge to get to... Enough.. Then after that it was just boring,... More

To access the island is just a short boat trip departing from the harbour within the Old Town. Those boats leave every 30 mins to and from Lokrum so really easy access, and it's around £10 per person for a return. The island can be entirely visited by foot, even though in some areas it can be quite steep (I... More

We took a quick 10 min ferry ride to Lokrum island (70 kuna per person, return) from the old harbour . The peacocks on Lokrum are everywhere right from where we docked, they are friendly & you can take a bit of bread to feed them. Beware the first small kiosk you see though!! We couldn't find our sunscreen in... More

Quite well maintained with paths and some places to eat and/or drink. Swimming here is beautiful and here are several places with ladders leading into the water. The fauna is interesting!
