We had a lovely day visiting the island of Lokrum! Ignore all the negative reviews, it's a lovely island with plenty to do - make sure you visit the salt lake and take a dip! Ferries leave every hour in Old Town harbour and the last ferry back is at 6pm for 80kuna each.

A nice boat ride to the Island every hour, then as you get off there is about 100 yards away a very nice bar with a very friendly host/waiter. snacks and salads available and a very nice ice cream. the walks are quite bumpy so wear good shoes and not flip flops. there are lovely coves and bays and a... This is a short boat ride from Dubrovnik and a nice respite. Nice to walk among the trees and see the sea with peacocks ambling all about. We saw people kayak to the island and that looked like fun. Take your bathing suit for a dip off the rock beaches and also take a picnic as there is not much... More

Thought initially that the trip across by boat was a bit expensive at 80K but it included admission to the island reserve which is 50K, once on the island there are a number of walks we walked up to the top where the castle is ...splendid views up there but it is a tiring walk! Be prepared to take hundreds... More

If you have half or a day to kill, you can go there. Now, if your schedule is tight, forget about it. You are not missing anything remarkable.

Stunning, beautiful & tranquil. Definitely worth the few Kuna to visit. There is an outdoor cafe where you can buy refreshments like ice creams, drinks & light bites situated amongst the trees. Good opportunity to see the Old Towns coastline.

So glad we made time to visit Lokrum, it's a really pretty island and you can spend all day just strolling around taking lovely photos and taking in the scenery - which is exactly what we did. So nice to see a place that has not been built on - except for a small restaurant. Lovely little island and we... More

We visited on a fairly windy day, and that made the boat ride interesting! The island was very pleasant for walking through the trees, sitting on the rocks and watching the waves break against them and triple in to fill the rock pools. Monastery is well worth a look, and there are plenty of peacocks around.
