Its quite expensive to get on to this island via the ferry which leaves the main port on Dubrovnik. Once on, it is quite a nice and relaxing escape. You can explore the island and its various paths and trails at your own pace away from the crowds, take pictures of the peacocks, relax in the clear blue seas and... More

Depending on your mood an easy place to spend some time. Food at the cafe is OK but a much better restaurant is in the ruins at the old monastery complex (10 min walk from arrival point). One nice feature of the island is it is very shady so a good place to visit even during the middle of the... More

We were disappointed with our visit to Lokrum but this may be because we had already been walking and exploring a lot of the islands and their coastal paths, all of which had a lot more to see and encounter along the way. For us there was not a lot to see and the highlighted items numbered on the walking... More

If you're looking for a nice beach to spend the day, they are really rare in Dubrovnik. Locals tend to go to Lokrum for some peace and quiet. We had a blast at the "Dead sea" (sort of a lake) but I would have preferred to swim in an open sea (that would be the rocky beach at your left... More

A short trip from the Old Town to this tranquil island and so much to see. We visited in August and it was just so nice to sunbathe in the light breeze, occasionally diving into the sea off the rocks. The water was crystal clear and there are ladders all round, attached to the rocks, making it easy to access... More

We decided to take the boat over the water the short distance to Lokrum island. The boat cost around £7 but also included the entrance fee for the nature reserve. The island is beautiful and you can get some great shots of Dubrovnik and the coast up to Cavtat from the island hills. The snorkeling is good around the island.... More

doesn't look much from the shore but this is a lovely island. the restaurant is also good value. the climb to the fort at the top is not for the easily exhausted. the boat trip is also enjoyable if a little crowded. good value.

if u can put up with the sound of the chirping cicada then this island is well worth a visit. Just a 20 minute boat ride from dubrovnik old harbour and cheap as well. plenty of places to chill and sunbathe or swim in the adriatic. a few nice bars with well priced food. see the peacocks roaming freely on... Everyone looking for a quiet place to relax in the midst of a tourist season should definitely take a short boat trip from the Old Harbor to this tiny island resembling a real paradise on Earth. The best beaches are located not far away from the place of disembarking, after a pleasant walk through gorgeous botanical park. Ideal for an... More
