Great day trip to escape the crowds.

a Must do if you want to get away from the crowds. We had a nice walk and then had a wonderful morning of swimming and picnic. Highly recommended.

An island. That's pretty much it. If you do not know a lot of the history or you are not going with a tour guide I think your time is better spent in the city. There are nice places to swim from along the coast (the dead sea might be worth visiting), a lot of fishes and things to see... More

Took the Vivador water taxi from Cavtat here, with the expectation of catching a later boat on to Dubrovnik. There is an entry fee for the island, which entitles you to a map (prominent No Free Maps notice!), although ours turned out to be in French. It is nice to roam around the Island and take in the views but... More

As others have said ,head for old port and get the regular Ferry ,about £8 per person for return trip . The ride takes about 15 minutes and you arrive on a full boat but it amazing how quiet it soon feels . We did walk up to the old fortress a tough ,steep in parts walk but worth it... More

You can take the ferry from the old town to this island. We went on a very hot day and it was nothing spectacular but if you like a bit of wildlife and constant cricket chirruping then it is right for you. There are some nice spots to grab some sun but mostly very rocky near the sea. Plenty of... More

A great day trip for relaxing. Don't be tricked by the tourist trips, just jump on the ferry which goes back and forth from the harbour (easy to find) - it's a couple of quid for the 15 minute return and they go every 30 mins

This island is only 20 minutes boat ride from the harbour outside the city walls. Boats leave every 30 minutes and cost about £8 per person. Take your swimming costume as there numerous bathing opportunities. One of the most popular is the Dead Sea pool which is an extra salty pool which makes floating more easy. There are several cafés... More

Enjoyed the boat ride to Lokrum island and great swimming from the beach (rocks). Also enjoyed a walk around the island. Well worth a trip from Dubrovnik or Cavtat.

My girlfriend and I had a fabulous day there, you can enjoy walking in the forest or take a nap on the rocks near the sea. The dead sea is super crowded but "luckily" it rained in the afternoon so we could enjoy swimming in the dead sea with very few people. If you're a Game of Thrones fan, you... More
