Although the start of the trail is a little tucked away, hiking up Mt Srdj is the best way to take in its stunning views. The rocky track consists of hairpin after hairpin up the steep hillside. Each corner offers a more breathtaking views than the last, and it gets better all the way to the top. We visited on... More

The cable car is (Dec 2014) 13 eur and if you combine with the museum ticket, 20 eur. On a sunny day, however, you can simply find the hiking trail to the top. It's not a difficult hike and it wil take you 30-40 minutes. Make sure to bring good boots. As you go up, unforgettable views can be photographed... More

Cable car was too pricey for us, plus my fear of heights, so we went with a car up to the top. For those wanting to do the same, from the main road called Magistrala, going South, after you pass Dubrovnik, on the left side look for a yellow sign Bosanka, turn there onto what it seems one way side... Oh my god the view was amazing at the top! We went up around 3:30pm, and the sun was starting to set, which just made the view even more unrealistically beautiful. My only regret is that if I went up earlier, i would have been able to walk down rather than take the cable car down, because it would have... More

We did the cable car ride on a clear day - views are great - no long queues ( although this was the last week in October and also fairly early in the morning). Would recommend. Breathtaking views once at the top - also visited the fortress and museum while at the top.

Bit of a queue at the entrance, but worth the wait. Need to have a clear day. Coffee at the top is great and the loos worked well and we're well serviced.

Doesnt matter if you walk or get the cable car, fantastic view and a must visit if in Dubrovnik. Eat lunch up there.

For a more rewarding, much cheaper alternative to the cable car, do the simple hike up the hill instead. The views are simply stunning, and you'll miss out all the waiting time for the cable car (in high season the queues can be very long!). Plus you'll save £10 per person return ticket! If you're getting a bus in from... More

The best thing about this excursion was the beautiful, unobscured view of the city from the walking track on the way back into the city. I was not so impressed by the views from the top, but mostly because I love taking photos, and it was impossible to do this without having the cable car cables in my shots. There... More

We started opposite the Pile gate. Weather was overcast which is just as well as you will certainly be warmer by the time you reach the top if you keep going! You start off climbing alot of steps for the first 5-10 minutes but it then gets a little easier by zig-zagging along at a steady gradient. At first we... More
