The harbour promenade extends along the full length of the castle and is a perfect place to have a morning coffee. It is about 75 metres wide, with enough room for the cafe tables, walkway and some stalls. At first it's difficult to tell where cafes are when looking at the tables as the ground floors are all shops. All... More

There are numerous canopied cafe style restaurants stretched all along the Riva and they are a perfect place to slowly sip a drink and watch the world go by. You are not hurried but may need to signal waiting staff for service or pay your bill. All are in competition so the prices for drinks are reasonable - For a... More

This is the main waterfront promenade in Split. It must run on for a couple of miles and is blessed with many little parks with benches, ice cream vendors, restaurants and bars. Perfect for longer walks while enjoying the activity in the bay or for an early evening promenade while deciding where to enjoy dinner.

A long and wide promenade looking out across the harbour, and back to the Old Town gates. There are restaurants and food stalls, shops and souvenirs, hotels, and a large model of the town, and the effect is completed by the promenade being lined with trees and having benches all the way along its length. The views out to sea... More

The harbour side (Riva) has a plethora of restaurants, cafes and bars in which you can sit and watch the world go by and the ships and boats come in! On a sunny day I cannot imagine a nicer place to be!

Spent the morning here just people watching, with delicious pastries and coffee from the local shops. The cruise ships and the ferries are a sight to behold as are the numbers of people busy going about their travels. Despite being busy there is a calm here in the harbour. Easy to loose a few hours here

This neat and clean promenade with tens of restaurants is ideal for sitting down with a nice drink just to watch people walking by. You can also catch a sightseeing bus from here, or take a boat trip to one of the beautiful islands.

Split waterfront today is the form assumed by the early 19th century, when the French ruled Split. A hundred years later, the indigenous plant species were replaced by palm trees, and the new big change comes pretkraj 20th century when Riva finally closed to traffic. This is part of the split that you can not miss no matter from which... More

There is plenty to sit and see here between the people and the boats coming in and out. You can spend as much or as little time as you have, but definitely do at least a walk by.

A great (and remarkably clean) harbour with cafes all along the esplanade. We enjoyed having coffee (any time of day or night) and just watching the parade of life passing. The harbour is beatifically any time of day but especially at sunset. For a coffee (a handful of Kuna) its a worthwhile stop.
