great place to people watch

I loved sitting here watching people go by. If sit at the far East side get a beautiful view of the old tow and the boats coming and going.

Riva Harbour is a very interesting place to spend some time. Given Croatia is getting a lot of tourists coming through for sailing trips, during the summer the harbour will be full of boats from Sail Croatia, Contiki, Topdeck, Busabout and so many more. The port around the harbour will be full of tourists who have got off the boat... More

Riva is one of the most interesting places in Split. During the day, always full of tourists. My suggestion - spend the night in Split, come evening at Riva. Riva comes alive from approx. 20 to approx. 3 am. All cafes are open, people walking, singing, playing. It is quieter, there is no crowd running trippers, and the sea that... More

Absolutely an amazing place to be while in Split. You can just walk around and enjoy the smell of the sea, or you can sit in one of the restaurants and have a lovely meal with the perfect sea view. There are few stands around so you can shop some authentic handmade souvenirs.

My husband and I loved visiting Split. The Harbor is a great place to walk and see locals at work or on their boats. We had ice cream and watched as a woman read the palm of some tourists. We also purchased some lovely traditionally handmade souvenirs to take home. It definitely was a great time.

If it's not a sailing regatta, then it's the constant string of cruise ships coming in and out, or the island ferries. Lots going on in this harbour. We even bought some proscuitto and figs and had our picnic on one of the harbour benches so we could sit and watch the world goes by.

The city revolves around the harbor as it is a major stop for the ferries of Croatia which are constantly arriving or departing. So are fishing boats and cruise ships. Lots of nice restaurants nearby as well as the bus station and a very large market that has fascinating food items plus good souvenir shopping.

This is the place to people watch or at least that is what I was told. Personally, I'm not as interested in people watching as I am at seeing historical landmarks and the Riva is part of Diocletian's Palace. 4 stars for historical significance and 2 stars for people watching.

Place where you sit a relax, not only place for a transfer to cross on the islands. Lovely promenade with a plenty of cafe bars.

It's not huge, it's nothing groundbreaking as far as harbours go but in honesty, we simply loved walking up and down here. Yes, there are little stalls selling jewels and handmade souvenirs, there are cafes and restaurants and boat trip vendors BUT! And this is an important but.... No-one and I mean NO-ONE bothered us. At all. It amazed us... More
