We only travelled as far as the cafe, but it was a delightful place to enjoy a glass of wine and the views. Good wine only 10 kuna (less than $2). The walk itself, mostly stairs, is charming and shaded.

My guess is that most folks don't get too far past the restaurant. Walk the whole peninsula, on a sandy track, and see a zoo, playground, arboretum, medieval chapels, and hermitages built into caves on the hillside. A lovely way to spend an afternoon. Views are spectacular.

This is a park located near the city of Split, which was recommended by our hosts.. Great place to relax, and there are also some beaches that are not crowded and are excellent for swimming.

Marjan hill-it is a peninsula and a forest-park located in the western part of the Split peninsula. The beautiful nature for walking, recreation, relaxation, breathtaking views of the city and surrounding islands. Walk or run by Marjan Hill is one of the favorite hobbies of inhabitants and tourists of Split. There are several important institutions, some of which are known... More

Lovely walk or ride. Highly recommended to stretch the legs and imagine what it is like to live like a local in Split.

after all that culture and food, it was nice to have a change of scenery and get back to nature. The view from the top is breathtaking, and the small cafe with toilet facilities halfway up was a welcome respite.

It started raining when we were half way up and the path got a bit slippy when wet but the views are well worth the climb! As long as your reasonably fit you will be fine.

Did a hike uphill in the rain and it was so much fun! Honestly there were stairs everywhere so not really difficult if you go at your own pace. Lovely scenery, fresh air and romantic. We went up in the torrid rain and it was quite an experience! About one hr, back and forth from the palace!

This hike up the hill was one of the highlights of a month-long trip of the Balkan countries. You only have to go as far as the cafe for the view, though I'm sure the whole area is nice. I believe it was Rick Steves who said that after the climb you need to catch your breath, but then the... More

It's a long way up the steps from the north harborside to the Marjan area and park. Don't bother with the zoo; just enjoy the walk. About halfway up there is a cafe. If you look closely you will see that the letters over the door are Hebrew, and behind the cafe is an old Jewish cemetery. This land still... More
