From the end of the promenade, the far end from the ferry port, take steps up (signed).. and up.. It's quite a hike, but worth the climb for fine views over the city, the harbour and the islands. Cafe at top with superb views. Walks through the woods to hermitages. This is a large area with many paths - even... More

A really long walk to the top of the park..... all uphill, but if you're fit enough the views are worth it. There is a great bar for a pit stop descent ! Then a much easier walk back into town.

We found our way to Kasjuni Beach. A revelation. Little white stones, clear blue sea and deep green pine forests. Lots of Islands on the horizon. Don't expect noise or shops. There are just 2 beach bars and a pizza machine (it sounds mad but it works!). We spent a very happy few hours here before catching the noddy train... More

Kasuni beach in Marjan is a local-dominated pebble beach with terrific sunset views. Very clean, calm, and private. Highly recommended.

I advise hiring a bike and cycling round it's quite easy unless you go up to the peak. Lots of lovely little coves for swimming along the way. Water pumps along the paths too for filling bottles or rinsing off the sea water. Quiet and peaceful even in the high season. Some lovely quiet beaches_ pebbly.

lovely shaded park area - quiet bays to sunbathe or swim - plus areas with small bars for coffee or beers - chilled and relaxing away from the crowds (don't expect sand or amusements/music/loads of tourists)

I visit Marjan a lot during my visits to Split in order to get some time for myself, away from the noise and the stress that the city provides, and altho it is a few minutes of walking away from the very centre of Split, Marjan provides what I need. It's a great spot if you're into cycling because it... More

Great swimming all around the shores of Marjan. Great views from the top. But the beaches are the highlight.

A little tourist train takes you up this wooded green lung of Split from the centre of the town- through pine forests, past the (not so great) zoo and then over the hill to lovely little cafes, restaurants and rock and concrete bathing areas. Reminds you of the south of france.

The beaches are secluded and once you find a good spot, nobody disturbs you. The sea is calm, the temperature of the water is perfect and it is very good for serious swimmers as well as for not very confident ones, like myself. It is the perfect place for exercising outdoors. If you enjoy walking, running, cycling or swimming then... More
