We took a walk here on a very hot, sunny afternoon. Our accommodation was only ten minutes from the cafe, so we paused there for half an hour for a drink, before carrying on up the hill, right up to the viewing platform with the flag. The steps and steep climbs won't be everyone's cup of tea in 36 degree... More

Lovely area to explore in the morning or evening - great views across the sea to the Pakleni islands.

Great views of the city but be prepared to walk. Unfortunately for us it was a really hot day and we couldnt make it all the way to the top.

If you're having trouble by finding the right place, just go to Restaurant "Konoba Marjan" and walk from there. Very easy to find afterwards. There is also a little Zoo which cost 10 kuna (5 for children). It's nice but most of the animals were inside due to the heat

We climbed the steps which can be accessed from the north section of the harbour near the cathedral. Quite a climb but the views from the cafe halfway up were stunning. We never got any further just sat there and had great coffee.

I cycled around the Marjan penninsula while staying in Split. It is a lovely place for a cycle and would be ideal for a family cycle or hike. Great spots to go swimming along the way.

This was not the easiest undertaking in 38 degree heat but it was worth it. A short walk west of town sees the start and then it isn't too far compared to other panoramic walks we've done. It goes in 3 stages: 1 to the cafe with best views; 2 to small pretty church, views starting to be obscured; 3... More

We definitely picked the wrong day and time to do it as we went midday and it was on one of the hottest days that week but we were looking for something to do and thought we might as well! The view from near the bottom is beautiful and well worth the short walk to that point, however, as you... More

The park is not very special, although it hides some churches. However at the top is a viewpoint from which you can have a view of Split. But it is a long climb and many ways to get to that top so plan your trip in advance and try to find out where there are stairs and not. If you... More

We live at the fringe of Marjan, which locals call the "lungs of Split". At one time it was stripped bare of all its trees by locals looking for lumber, but eventually it became under the protection of the city and since then has become a gorgeous place to spend the day. With miles of biking and walking trails, it... More
