The Marjan is definitely worth a visit. It's accessible by broad steps with lots of landings to catch your breath and admire the view. Go in the early evening to watch the colors of Split and the mountains in the background change as the sun sets.

Oh if you want time away from the direct heat, the buzz of the city and general hubbub then this is the place to stroll. In the shade of cedar (?) trees overlooking the coastline, and what a coastline, I just felt very relaxed. Families come here to swim and paddle, there are a few scattered facilities plus the chance... More

Marjan hill would certainly give you the whole view of Split, a bit of Trogir, and also the sea surrounding it. On its way up there, you would also see some historical trace of Roman Catholic in the area as well as the zoo (didn't check out the zoo). However, unless you really are a nature lover or a mountain... More

Well marked out park, good steps up to the viewing area at the top. Loads of butterflies, lizards and birds, great views over the sea, the islands and Split.

this park, just above center Split is a beautiful greenery, with fabulous views of Split, the islands and the harbor. there is a little zoo on top, and old church, and old Jewish cemetery, and a great staircase down to the cathedral

There is a 'tourist train' that takes you to the top for a great view of the city and harbour area of Split. Its well worth the effort to get here and some people walk up.

Went here to jog and really enjoyed the wonderful views of Split and the Adriatic. The north side of the Park is nice for jogging with a wide paved path. South side has steep switch backs and is a serious workout when going up!!!

First visited Marjan near Split many years ago in 1998 and have returned many times since. I was there isn 2013 and definitely going again. Had my first kiss from a girl who later became my wife in this romantic spot, overlooking the city of Split (where we first met). The Marjan is a sort of woodland park, with some... More

Just a short distance from Old Town are stairs leading up into Marjan. The hike offers a great view of all of Split. The hike can be difficult because of how many stairs there are on the way up, but it is definitely worth it on a warm day with a clear sky. There is also a zoo at the... More

Take the little tourist train. Far exceeded our expectations. The views were wonderful, that we would not have seen without this trip. Only dislike - allowed 10 minutes break at the top of the hill - 30 minutes would have been better.
