Assumption Cathedral is even more beautiful than in photos. Inside it is magnificent. The atmosphere is something to be experience for anyone who visits Kharkiv. I found a very beautiful and inexpensive copy of Andrei Rublevs icon from Cathedrals shop.

Attended an excellent organ recital with great light effects. Apart from the pillars that obscure the view from the edges, the venue was impressive.

This cathedral is the highest temple in Kharkiv. It is located on the University Hill and is a part of ancient Kharkiv buildings in the central part of the city. The tallest building in the city is the bell tower of the Alexander of Assumption Cathedral, built in honor of the victory over Napoleon. Built in 1819, the architect Vasilуv.
