Wow. One of the prettiest & certainly most unique beaches in the US. Stunning clay cliffs that deposit multi colored clay into the sand & water. The result is a unique buoyancy to the sand & water that appears red in areas. Note that this is partially a nude beach. The main beach is clothed, but when you wander you... More

This is a great day trip while visiting Martha's Vineyard. Very picturesque. Great history lesson especially in regards to the Gay Head Lighthouse.

Loved the view. It's a gorgeous stop to take in the cliffs and beach below. Definitely a great photo opp! Got crowded as bus tours came through. Parking is also limited, but the island buses stop here.

I took a day trip to M.V. (I'm from the Boston area). My goal was to see the Aquinnah Cliffs and Gay Head Lighthouse. I used the shuttle bus transit which was very easy as the busses run every hour at least in the month of September. The cliffs, the beach and the lighthouse are spectacular!!! A must see and... More

Stopped here, along with everbody else, as this was a "50 cent and lobster roll stop" on our bus tour. Not a whole point else to come here really: pleasant view. Police do issue tickets fairly easily. Not sure I would bother all the way here on a scooter especially on MV's lanes.

You have not been to Martha's Vineyard unless you park and walk the trail to the cliffs at Aquinnah (Gay Head). The water is crystal clear and warm. You can enjoy a day at the beach with a picnic, sunbathe, walk the beach to see the exquisite colorful clay cliffs that make this a national wonder!!! A true gem not... More

The view is exhilarating. it was well worth the visit. There is a very nice restaurant a few miles away that is also worth the while if you drove to this side of the Island. I truly enjoyed my stay for 1 week in the vineyard exploring every little town, site and restaurant I could find.

The cliffs and the view from the cliffs is beautiful. Parking was difficult and police sit close by waiting to write tickets. Too many 'junk shops' selling trinkets.

After 3+ years of making day trips to MV and visting the same places over and over again, we finally visited Aquinnah Cliffs. If you're spending a day on the island, do not plan on packing much more in than the visit to Aquinnah due to the travel time (2 hr round trip from Vineyard Haven). You want to leave... More

Take the time to go see these cliffs. It is a sight not to be missed! The clay formations surrounded by blue water and trees is really breathtaking. The parking is free but limited to an hour; it is enough time to take it all in and plenty of pictures of course. Also, there are bathrooms but it will cost... More
