Brant Point is a "classic" New England lighthouse. By classic I mean it's image is present on flags, dishes, shirts, towels, underwear, and whatever. In fact an exact replica was built at Mystic Seaport in Mystic Connecticut. At 26" tall it is also the lowest New England light. At least 10 other lights have been built on this spot, which... more

I love history. I learned that this is the 2nd oldest lighthouse in US. It is a beautiful lighthouse overlooking the harbor. We saw it coming in on the ferry and it was breathtaking on foggy days. It's also spectacular at night with all the lights from the town. We stayed at The Century House, a quaint bb on Cliff... more

This was a stop on our van tour of the island. We got out to take a few pictures... the lighthouse is shorter than I thought it would be. Our guide pointed out the nearby beach plums growing wild at the entrance to the beach. We were lucky enough to find a few ripe ones - cool. more

There is no parking anywhere near Brant Point Light House - which we knew ahead of time - so we parked and walked a long ways to get here. It is a cute and very little (shorter than you'd expect) lighthouse. I think it was the 2nd one built in America! It is at the end of the street. At... more
