Enjoy the children doing their thing with their protective parents while watching their laughters and go-get- me - mom plays, while looking @ the other side, a nice view of the harbor and to the left you'll see the most prestigious White Elephant Hotel & Restaurant.

What else could you ask for with a 1 and 3 year old? A small, calm harbor style beach - clean, not many rocks or shells or seaweed. Crabbing available for older children. Lifeguards on duty. There was a nice big field and play ground and to boot, there was a children's cafe which had children perfect food! Great experience!

Cute little beach with a nice meadow and some playground equipment makes this place look like it would be great for a family with young kids. It was the end of the off-season when I went, but it was a beautiful day. There were at least two dead seagulls on the beach which was kind of gross. It was a... More

This is a small beach that has some playground items for small kids. I expected it to be bigger. You are able to play Frisbee or throw a ball around and can have a picnic lunch if you choose. It is near the white elephant so you do have a view of some nice homes. Again it was a lot... More

This beach is just the right size for the young ones. There was a lot of marine life, which a group of kids including our grandchildren were gathering and tending to in buckets. A high point, I thought.

Small little beach in town on the harbor (boats were too close for in my opinion) Picnic tables and a small playground too. Great for little ones to splash around-- wouldn't want to spend a whole day here.

Our hotel was right next to the children's beach. If you have small children, it's a great place to take them without worrying about waves knocking them down.

If you have small children, do not miss this beach! It is my daughter's favorite place in "the whole world."

If you want to bring your kid(s) to a place with a playground, beach, and water, I highly recommend Jettis beach instead. Better view, more beach to work with, and CLEAN water. Many kids have gotten sick from swimming in the nasty harbor water here. There's also more lifeguards on staff at Jettis, a playground too, more parking, and an... More

Too close to the harbor and smell of the petrol from the boats...very busy harbor with all of the steamship authority and hy line ferry crossings....I would recommend putting on a life preserver and hold on to your child and go to Surfside Beach and get a real sense of a beach and ocean and salt water and fresh air.
