where the surf meets the island

nice waves and people were surfing and paddle boarding. Not great for younger kids because of the heavy current

Great surf and swimming..in clear, warm water. Much less sea-weedy than Surfside and other beaches. Uncrowded, even in late August! Not the best for small children/toddlers as surf can really knock you down.

Beautiful clean water, smooth sand, and great surf when we went. Out of 'Sconset, Jetties, and Cisco - Cisco was our favorite. Grab a growler and composting cups from Cisco Brewery and bring it down to the beach.

Definitely the surfing beach on the island. Lots of well-healed, older surfer types. Fun mid-sized sandbar break. Big drop off from sand to shore break.

Very comfortable, easy drive. Bring some beach chairs, a good picnic, a grill and some wine and watch the fabulous sunset.

Nice beach. Huge waves. Dog friendly. Not easy to get to. Sticker parking only. We had a nice time but the waves were too big to go Swimming. Great for surfers.

No commercial activity whatsoever, except the Nantucket Surf Co. truck, with surfing lessons, boards, etc. Great beach for swimming, surfing, games, etc. Easy bike=ride from Town on the new bike path.

This is hands away, our favorite beach on Nantucket. It can have some very large waves one day (most) and be flat the other but no shells, seaweed or anything but clear, clean, cold water. SO much fun but be aware that there are no Lifeguards and we've been a few times when rip tides are occurring so probably not... More

The bike trail out to Cisco is terrific. Once you get there, the beach is amazing. The day we were there the waves were very high, there were many surfers. People were swimming and catching the waves. Great time. There are some snack trucks there.
