I was at Hampshire College to attend my nieces wedding at The Red Barn on campus. It was a lovely setting for an outdoor wedding the reception at The Red Barn was both rustic and elegant at the same time.

Our son is entering his third year at Hampshire. His experience to this point has been incredible. The "out of the box" concept has allowed him and his fellow students to be creative in thought and action yet still maintain an academic culture. I believe that this style of education is the future of our society as it makes the... More

When we first visited Hampshire with my twin daughters, we went because they had a discussion and tour going out in the morning and we had extra time before hitting Mount Holyoke, Amherst, Smith, and UMASS. It was a game changer. At first my artist daughter, who craved art school in NYC groaned - all we could see was the... More

No one can find advisors, they are all too busy and the college is falling apart, if you have never needed attention def. drugs you can easily get then here at their health facility.

For the price, 55K+ a year, they should let their education students know that most of their education classes will be taken at other schools, like UMASS or Mt. Holyoke. The dorms are disgusting, the food service a rip off -- that said, the faculty and administration were excellent to deal with as a parent, as student seemingly indifferent.

My daughter graduated from this college, We got to know the college campus very well! It is a very nice cllege, situated in the hills in Amherst, apple orchards, with a splendid view of the mountain/ seven sisters! It has manicured grounds and one of the 5 college consortium in this valley! Nearby is the Eric Carl children's museum just adjacent... More

The campus looked a bit seedy, especially the odd dorm buildings. We were told that very few students live there. The bus commute to the other 5 College campuses is a bit long. It seems a bit far off from everything, which could be good for some.

Wonderful tour and info session. Very passionate and motivated students in a beautiful setting. Students seemed very friendly and thrilled with the school.

We researched Hampshire College to see if it would be a good match for our son. We found that it is very challenging, both instant graduate school, and in some sense a challenge to become a self-styled entrepreneur of one's own defined academic mission. With a profound social awareness students are charged with devising the social mechanics of a sustainable... More

I attended this college in the early 70's and had an exceptional experience and education. We visited it with my teenage son this year.
