We took a private half-day lesson in Jul 2014 and then rented a Rainbow 24 for a day in late September. Our experience was excellent on both days. The staff were very helpful and cheerfully let us make a few mistakes (and learn from them!). We grounded going out on our own but the yard's boat quickly helped us out.... More

The men went sailing sat and sun and the women went pique-nique on the beach which is not too fantastic but pleasant by the water- The beach should be forbidden to dogs.

This school has taught thousands how to sail. They offer the very basic instruction for beginners and more andvanced instruction for those who want to go further in the sport. They also have excellent connections in the racing and cruising communities so they can be an excellent resource for east coast sailors.

We are in our 60's and wanted to further our sailing skills with a three day mini-holiday and BCC certification. Our instruction, Pat, was our age, very experienced in sailing and very patient as an instructor. Occasionally, he would disappear below and we'd have a chance to try out our skills - his confidence developed our confidence. We were very... More

Took the week long intro course for certification, sailed almost every minute the weather permitted (and the weather was very iffy the first three days), had new instructor the last day which was good for getting a different viewpoint. John was awesome, patient, let us make mistakes and was encouraging - he shared his passion and experience without reservation! We... More

I found the teaching staff too young and too distracted, a bit lazy. This was several years ago, might have changed. I've sent my grandchildren to several in the area and this disappointed me

We enjoyed the Couples Take the Wheel program as part of the U.S. Sailboat Show. A relaxed atmosphere conducive to learning and lots of Q and A. A special treat was time on the water with sailing school captains to learn about specific sailboats and the Chesapeake Bay area. Well worth the effort.

We sent our 9 year old grandson to the "Kidship" division for the week-long course. He had a great time and learned to sail from a group of excellent counselors. The program has been in existence for decades and management has learned how to deal effectively with children of varying ages, and to improvise when heat or weather requires modification... More

Instructors Sue and Doug were knowledgable, friendly, and patient. We took Course 102 and by registering early (mid - April) we were able to pay less than full price.

My son has attended the summer kids' sailing program here for 3 years now, starting when he was 5. It is hands down his favorite summer program and he is becoming quite the competent sailor as a result. The instructors are engaging and great with kids. If you watch from the shore, it may look like they are playing pirate... More
