Being a lover of history, and extremely interested in our signers, I was excited to see the Carroll House. The house is beautiful on the outside, and it was a tad difficult to get to with parking being almost a mile away, but the side streets are full of colonial houses and history. We were lucky and got a private... More

We enjoyed the tour. The grounds were very nice, the children enjoyed the tour. The house itself is a little empty, how ever, it was a nice experience.

Let me qualify my remarks by saying that we made a special trip to Annapolis to visit this house and the website does build it up a bit by saying it is "among the largest and most impressive historic sites in Annapolis." If you go to the website and see that impressive picture, be sure to note the small white... More

We tried to visit but it was closed for renovation and only available by appointment (which the website said nothing about). The church appears to be using the house for an office now, so it's not really in it's "original" state. The original front door has been removed and there is a "new" front door. I was very disappointed that... More

An unfurnished house but with our charming tour guide we got a great overview of this property and its many inhabitants. And we were accommodated in a very short time as we were on a deadline. Will absolutely go back to explore further when I'm back in Annapolis

This is the former residence of DoI signer Charles Carroll. The house is sprawling and exhibits inside are really interesting! The graveyard behind the mansion even houses the corpse of a Saint! A must visit attraction if you are into history.
