Expectations met. Spent time with daughter as invited guest for possible college bid. Never thought we would learn on site and be treated as though she was our greatest asset to them. Impressed to say the least. Unfortunately, they didn't offer what she required for medical school.

A wonderful day out of DC, on the shores of Chesapeake Bay. A wonderful insight into the American Naval history and traditions. The most beautiful architecture, more like a French palace. Our guide was friendly and entertaining and the museum had a lot if interesting items, but the whole floor of historic model ships was incredible.

A friend who is a Naval Academy grad gave us the tour, which certainly helped make the visit special. Be sure to visit the Chapel and the John Paul Jones Tomb.

I guess if you had a military background or a strong interest in the military, this would be a great experience. However for us, it was just a free stroll through something that was OK to see. The chapel was interesting with it's sea themed stain glass windows.

Recommend start at visitors center and joining a very reasonably priced tour of the "Yard"...scenic as well as enlightening regarding one of our nation's most unique educational institutions as well as a key component of our national defense.

Great tour of how midshipmen live, study and train to be future military leaders. Or just walk around yourself and there's plenty to see and read about Naval history.
