We visited Jungle Gardens in early February. While purchasing our tickets, my husband was warned about the existence of alligators. No big deal, he thought--our family, being from South Louisiana, has seen plenty of them. The gardens were beautiful and kept up very well. There were winding trails and lovely views. I liked that there were places to roam around... more

We were staying in the area for about a week due to our team being in the 10-Year Old World Series. We were constantly looking for something to occupy a group of 10-year old boys, so we visited the Jungle Gardens. It was fantastic! The boys were constantly on the look-out for alligators and the scenery was breath-taking. Several of... more

I have visited the Jungle Gardens twice. The first time in August 2001. I loved it, but of course it was very hot and humid. A couple of years later I revisited Louisiana and the Jungle Gardens in April. The weather was just perfect! It's true, I have to agree with most other posters here: the gardens are so beautiful... more

I think we would have enjoyed this a little more if it had been cooler. It was beautiful and the bird city was extremely neat. The gardens are very natural and pretty. It's a beautiful place to take pictures. I could see taking my children (12 and 13) and making them pose for "beautiful" pictures. I have always liked doing... more

Well, our experience here was great. We visited in mid February and the temperature was in the low 70's. I could see how mosquitos and humidity might be a problem in the summer. The trees, lawns and shrubs were much greener than I expected with widlife and birds in abundance. The place is very peaceful and easily absorbs 2-3 hours... more

There wasn't much to see for our $6.25 apiece. No discounts. No refunds. The ancient Buddha was incredible, but not much else to see. I suppose there might be flowers in the summer. more

My husband and I traveled with our children to Avery Island and the Jungle Gardens on July 16, 2004. We were thrilled by the beauty of the well-tended gardens, the glorious old oak trees dripping with spanish moss, and the opportunity to see wildlife such as alligators, swamp rabbits, and snowy egrets. It was a hot, humid day, but a... more

I visited Avery Island in the spring. We first toured the Tabasco factory and we found it very interesting. It is the only factory the makes the sauce, and the island is a salt dome, not even an actual island. The Jungle Gardens were our afternoon stop, and it was beautiful. There is a marked road you can use to... more

We went to the gardens with our children on April 2, 2001. The mosquitos were everywhere!!! The salesclerks in the entrance/giftshop were extremely rude, and unconcerned about the mosquito problem. I recommend that if you are thinking about going here, DON'T more
