Alexandria is very fortunate to have a zoo which is acredited. They are constantly updating the facility and adding new exhibits and animals. They are very engaged with the community. It is well laid out and everything is very well labeled and expalined. The traib trolly is lots of fun too!

No Giraffes but thats okay the rest of the Zoo animals more than made up for them. Nice Zoo to get away for the day. The one thing I noticed was a little odd was the parking. It's laid out to where people just find a place ram their vehicle over a curb and onto grass. We found additional parking... More

Awesome little zoo to visit. I have been to much larger ones and there is no comparison, but this zoo is still entertaining. All the animals look healthy and their enviroment is very clean. I am an animal lover and I can tell there is a lot of love In this zoo. There is even small resting areas to enjoy... More

This is a small zoo, but well layed out. We went on a Friday morning with light rain falling, so there were few visitors. The rain also led to fewer animals being out and visible, but the animals we did see seemed happy and well cared for which is always a good sign. We were not looking to buy refreshments,... More

Enjoyed this small but nice little zoo. My husband and I were enjoying a rare day off and decided to checkout the alexandria zoological park. It was a weekday so wasn't crowded. Unfortunately the refreshment stand was closed but train ride was cute. Overall relaxing and interesting place to pass a couple hours.

Beautiful afternoon for a trip to one of the best zoo's we have been to. We use to go here all the time when I was at Fort Polk. What a treat to meet the Cougar keeper & talk to her. It was amazing to see her interact with the animals. We live Tyler & the Caldwell zoo where 2... More

there's plenty to see here including a Louisiana section. most of the animals looked relatively content and not especially stressed (the white tiger did a lot of pacing). due to cold some animals were inside and according to one attendant the lion is young, afraid of "everything", doesn't like people, and the tigers are very, very young and like to... Love this zoo but after the deaths of the monkeys during a freeze the zookeeper should have been fired!

The zoo was a wonderful experience! Most of the animals were out and moving around to be seen. I really enjoyed the baby tigers that they had at that time. That and the white tigers were my favorites! There were not a lot of people there that morning so it wasn't very crowded. It was a very peaceful experience and... More
