For the size of the city this wasn't bad. They had a good variety of animals and they were well taken care of. Like most small zoos there was a place where my kids could get some hands on with the animals. My wife and I visited the Alexandria Zoo in mid-February, 2004. It's not an enormous, big-city type zoo, and it certainly was not crowded when we were there. However, we enjoyed it, and the admission price is more than reasonable.
