Small zoo, but a wide variety of animals. Exhibits nicely done. Lots of shade in the zoo itself, so very comfortable. Very clean. Alexandria...be proud. A great little zoo!

While visiting the zoo today the kids got hungry, not surprising since its rt at noon. So we stopped at the palms cafe to get a snack. While waiting in line, and waiting for them to decide what they wanted, a couples order of burgers was ready, upon seeing that the kids decide they want cheeseburgers, good, at least they... More

We really enjoyed this zoo. It was a little small, but surprisingly nice. Good variety of animals. We had a great time.

Many times towns the size of Alexandria have a zoo that is just okay. But this area should be proud of Alexandria Zoological Park. From the new Land of the Jaguar exhibit to the countless animals that are native to Louisiana, this is a great place to spend an early morning (especially when the temperature and humidity climb as the... Love that it's so small and doesn't take hours to walk around to see it all. Not a large selection of large animals but lots of interesting creatures to enjoy. I didn't get to finish the Louisiana habitat area, but we love our local habitats at our local zoo. It's nice to be able to enjoy the local wildlife instead... More

We have taken our children across America to different zoo's from Washinton DC Zoo to San Diego Zoo and I honestly feel that our little Alexandria Zoo ranks up with the best of them. While we do not have the Pandas or Polar Bears or Elephants, we have have a very large variety of animals that are displayed in very... More

This zoo in Alexandria is actually one of the coolest (as far as temperature) zoo's I ve been to. The entire zoo is covered by trees, so while the Louisiana sun is beating down, you are covered by shade almost everywhere you go inside this unique zoo. We especially loved the Koi pond and feeding them.

The zoo has been updated since my last visit. I enjoyed it! There were even new exhibits to view. The paths have somewhat changed direction. The zoo is very well kept for the most part.

This is one of the best zoos in Louisiana. Definitely worth a visit. Special exhibits include Louisiana habitat, Land of the Jaguar and more. There is a train ride that runs throughout the zoo. Great place for families to spend a day.

The Alexandria Zoo is an excellent zoo. They have a large variety of animals displayed in imaginative, natural settings. There is a train which circles the zoo, a gift shop, and refreshments. There are educational offerings and events throughout the year; a Zoo Boo during October and a special Christmas Lights display during Christmas, don't miss this unique attraction!
