Free beer! Really! Yes, if you visit the Abita brewery, the tour is free. The visitor's center is very nice, it looks new and is set up like a pub. The big difference between the ordinary pub and this place is that you ending up behind the bar, pouring your own beer from Abita's varied array of craft beers. Abita's... More

My only complaint is that it doesn't last longer! I've done this tour multiple times and it never disappoints. A must do on the Northshore.

The Abita Brewery tour is a small look at the growing Abita beer line as it developed over the years in Covington. First, what is now the Brew Pub, and now the excellent tasting room which allows the traveler the benefit to taste both the beers themselves as well as some really thoughtful combinations of the beers themselves which really... If your looking for a fun tour you might want to check this out. You can sample all of their different brews prior to the tour, fill your glass during the tour and enjoy a little more afterwards. Plus, it's free!

The brewery jut went under a large expansion and upgrade. The tour is a relaxing and informative. The selection of brew is good just wished it had the AndyGator on tap. Which is by far my favorite! Remember this is a micro brewery so the plant is small compared to the Co--s plant in Golden, Colorado but what the heck... More

The "tour" is really just watching two 10 minute videos and a 10 minute walk into and out of the brew house. There is nothing to see except huge storage tanks. It's very hot and the smell of stale beer on the floor wasn't very pleasing. The only good thing, all the free beer you can drink before the "tour"... More

We'd long talked about "making a day" of this. Well...you gotta have more to do to make it a full day. We had lunch at the Abita Brew Pub-which was the original brewery site. Good, but not fabulous oyster poor boys. It was too hot to walk the trail, so we drove around the area until it was time for... More

The tour itself isn't the highlight. But, the beer tasting and the high energy atmosphere in the tasting room make this well worth the trip to Abita.

not much of a tour, but the beer's great. You go into the brewing room for 10 minutes and you can't hear the talk because the mic is reverberating off of the huge metal casks. But you get to dring as much as you can pour in a hour for free.

The Abita folks read and listen to the criticism, and they dealt with every complaint I've read recently here on Tripadvisor. No complaints from us , and we didn't even go inside for the tour. We stayed in the tasting room, drank, and shopped. The kids were allowed inside, got first dibbs on some root beer, as an employee cut... More
