To be honest I was bored to tears but my husband was interested. You can eat at the over priced restaurant there.

The enormity of the experience of seeing boats pass through the canal is hard to believe. there is also an excellent museum with various pieces of equipment to increase understanding of how the canal was built and is being modernized once again

Not to be missed. Friendly & helpful staff. Clean grounds. Great views with an English speaking guide broadcasting over a PA system. 3d movie wax awesome. Check times as only 2x daily are active. Museum closes early so unfortunately we didn't get to take that tour. Overall a wonderful experience!

It is amazing that the technology used for the canal is still being used today. The movie was a bit lame but the rest of museum was excellent. Go between 9 and 11am or after 2pm for the most ships passing through the canal

If you are a history buff or interested in how the canal and the crossing of large ships work, then the Miraflores Visitor Center is worth a visit.

Like many places in Panama, tourists are overcharged. But, the Visitor Center at the Miraflores Locks is the best place to learn about how the canal operates. In addition, the visitor center overlooks the lock, giving visitors an up-front view of ships traversing the canal. If you want to see the Panama Canal, this is the place to go.

There is a 3D movie about the canal- very very cool. The views of the ships passing through the locks are excellent although it was very crowded. The displays about the canal are also excellent. Go here first then sail through the canal.

It is easy to bypass going to see the canal if you are destined for the beach but it would be a shame to miss a stop at Miraflores. I thought the museum exhibit was excellent as well.

It's worth a visit but unless there is a ship going through the locks it could be disappointing. The museum is good, the 3D movie is average, the restaurant and snack bar were closed with no indication of when they will ever reopen. But watching three ships go through the Canal was very interesting - we must have spent over... More
