This site is popular for the tour groups (of course!). I got there at opening (9:00 a.m.) and was first on the viewing platform and secured a corner on the rail before the crowds followed. The movie and exhibit are well done. I learned that most of the workers who actually built the canal were from the Caribbean - particularly... More

The locks are deservedly at the top of the "What to Do" lists for Panama City. They are a short drive away, and the entry fees are reasonable. I recommend paying the extra $3, which allows you to see the 10-min. movie on the history of the canal and to enter the small museum with historical and ecological exhibits. But... More

I like the theatre presenting how the canal was built. Also, the ship gliding along the canal. I don't the deck where we view the ship because it is too small for the many visitors. I had to climb and stand on the chair high up to get a clear view. More

Good for a short visit to watch the documentary and see some ships go through. A little pricey, but where else are you going to see the Canal? More

Miraflores Locks are the first on the Caribbean side of the canal and are equipped with a modern air-conditioned visitor center. The place is crowded with tourists who come to take photos of ships passing through the locks. Patience is required when taking photos because of the crush of bodies. There is an outdoor viewing platform on several levels and,... More

Easy to get to, pretty cheap cab ride. Impressive display both outside and inside the museum. It's worth it to watch the little film, nothing groundbreaking, but if you don't know the history of the canal, it's a quick way to learn some. More

There was a very good announcer who explained the mechanism of the locks. The movie they showed at the place was good too. More
