The visitor center at Miraflores locks can be crowded but the center is designed to handle the crowds. Going early helps. The museum is well done and very interesting. The movie is also good but shorter than the wait to see it. 1) There are plenty of cabs in Panama City. It should only cost about $10.00 to take a... More

The museum was okay and I liked watching the locks being raised and lowered. The movie they have on the history is only ten minutes long. You would think there would be more history in its 100 years of existing.

This was highlight of trip to Panama City. A container vessel was going through the lock while we were there and it was fascinating to watch. The negative thing was we had to pay as non-residents $15 while residents only pay $3. Otherwise we might have gone back. The taxi driver returned to pick us up in an hour and... More

The geek in me loved the slow motion spectacle of watching three small boats pass through the locks. The viewing platform offers a great view. The gift shop has a great selection of cool, vastly overpriced souvenirs.

Short video didn't give much info. The museum was interesting and the nature exhibit was great. Very large crowd made it hard to view the ships on their progress through the lock. Although they claim to be environmentally responsive, I think really wonder.

The Center is a great way to see the Canal and learn about its history. The movie is more about Panamanian national pride than the actual history of the canal but the museum does a great job in teaching what the movie does not. I learned a great deal. Also they outside has viewing platforms for you to see the... More

Managed to observe a large oil tanker traversing the locks; the observation deck provides great angle for picture/video taking.

Must see, it is one of the engineering marvels of the world, organization is not great, museum was interesting for adults and kids, once on the top floor it is hard to get a good viewing point to see the ships if there is a lot of people, but ships are so large everyone can see something. We went in... More

We took our grandchildren and family here when they visited earlier this month. I am glad to see they changed the short informational movie, but still think it would benefit from some more background info on the Canal. The museum is great and, even though I've seen it several times, I still learn something new each visit. Go in the... More
