This is great to do before you take the boat trip through the locks. When we were there someone that worked in the lock was retiring and the HUGE ships in the locks blew their horns. It was really something.

It is amazing to see these giant cargo ships go through the locks. The museum is well worth a visit, make sure to allow time to go through it all. There is food and drink for purchase if you want to have a snack while watching to ships go by.

I enjoyed the intrigue of seeing a boat pass. see the actual operating it takes with the rise and fall of the water etc. with those large doors. wow. the things we can build.

Seeing the ships transistion the locks was fascinating. If you are near there, take the time to visit. We took a tour from the Marriott and also visited the Colonial City. Weel worth the $80 per couple for a four hour tour. The Miraflores Locks Visitor Center is an additional $15.00 per adult.

Short 10 minute video followed by a small exhibit about the history of the canal. The most impressive part about this center is the observation deck overlooking the canal.

I learned a lot about how works the filling and unfilling the waters levels. Nice views. We could watch how a ship crossed the locks, how it raised and went down, fantastic.

It´s the place to be if you want to see the sights of the Panama Canal and also if you want some real explanations of how it works. The have a museum there as well so you can see the history of how was it made. After that you can go the restaurant which has a buffet with great food.

Large museum and narrated talks as ships pass through the locks. Exhibits are presented in both Spanish and English. 3D movie is OK; I would have preferred a historic documentary.
