These locks give you the best view of how a lock works. You get to see up close and personal what a lock does and how it works The ships are tremendous in size and the space between them and the walls of the canal can be measured in inches. The ships never bump the sides and the 30 or... More

I didn't really know what to expect from this but it was great value for money. The museum on 4 levels was interesting and a great learning experience. We were lucky enough to see 2 ships go through the locks and it is definitely worth the entry alone.

Take the time to enjoy the various displays and videos. The mock up of a control room of a ship going through the locks is excellent.

If you come to Panamá, you got to come here to see ships passing thru. The visitor center is a complete and educational option to learn and enjoy your visit to Panama Canal.

The visitors center and museum at Miraflores Locks is an informative and educational experience. The ships passing through the Locks is a great attraction for young and old. There are is a nice coffee shop on the bottom level but the only restaurant open when we visited was steeply priced and only served buffet - best seats to view the... More

For most people this is the only place you need to see the Panama canal. There are good viewing platforms and go early (@ 9 am sharp) to see ship transiting. The museums are not that great and won't take more than 20 mins to walk through.

The visitor center provides the view of how the locks work. The museum is very well done. Go early to avoid school tours!

I can't imagine having visited Panama without seeing the canal, and Miraflores Locks was the perfect place to do so. We arrived at 10:30am and had very lucky timing as we got to see one ship leaving the last lock, and then another ship being pulled through the next lock. It was fairly busy but we were able to get... More

Loved the view and the experience. The 5 minute video was very informative, wish it was longer though. But watching the ships pass by was a wonderful experience
