The Columbian Island is small, very quiet and lovely, the weather is windy and the people are kind... if you want to do sports water you have options as snorkel and diving from 20$ an hour. Overall, "Contadora" it's the perfect getaway for couples, about the accommodation I suggest Casa del Sol, Peter ( the owner ) he's honestly and... More

The folks in the welcome center enjoy sharing their knowledge about the island and the area. Plus, you can make reservations for several excursions.

We took a whale-watching tour with Heidi from Contadora Island Tours/Whale Watching Panama and were very pleased with the results. Heidi was very informative about the area and the whales and in our smallish boat we found and followed a mama and baby humpback whale getting good photos, too. She served water, sodas and snacks during our 2-3 hour tour.... More

I only visited here twice but they have homemade ice cream and great t-shirts. But next door at the Point Hotel, Anne Gorden (Owner of Whale Watching Panama) has an amazing little gift shop that has jewelry and items created by the local to the Panama area "Embera tribe". She also has amazing whale watching expeditions and her office is... More

The Island itself is beautiful. The beaches are picture perfect. People can do many water sports there aside from swimming. The accommodations there leave much to be desired, though. If you choose to stay at a hotel with an "exclusive" beach such as Hotel Villa Romantica, beware of terrible decor, questionable cleanliness, terrible food, rude staff and fishy smells. The... More

We visited Panama City for 7 days in February. By accident, we discovered the Pearl Islands, a 2 hr. ferry ride from Panama City. I only wish we had known about these islands while we baked and sweated in the big city. The ferry was large enough so that even tho the ocean was a bit choppy, one didn't feel... More

Contadora is a very beautiful and luxury island. Which mean it is very expensive!!! But beaches are wonderful and quiet. The water is very clear. Don't miss Saboga island, next to Contadora. A small island very nice and where you can stay alone on a white sand beach. Under the sea is an amazing world of little colourfull fishies...And not... More

It may have been a perfect storm of bad luck for John, the proprietor of the welcome center, but things didn't go well from the start. My girlfriend and I came in around 10am to rent a double kayak for 8 hours at a (reasonable) price of $40. John's assistant set us up, pushed us off, and away we went.... More

I find it interesting that few travelers go to the Pearl Islands and instead travel to the Caribbean coast (Bocas del Toros etc..). Meanwhile, only a 15 minute flight or 1hr 40 min ferry brings you to Isla Contadora which is the epicenter of the Pearl Islands. The Islands and beaches rival the South Pacific and the locals are friendly... More
