The streets are so very clean and nice, as all buildings are being renovated I loved to walk and see the different buildings . The restaurant I at at was very... More

Must be one of my favourite places in Panama City. It's beautiful, have a great restaurants with English speaking staff, being such a tourist destination. At night if feels full of life and you can go for a nice walk with the view of city skyscrapers.

If you find yourself in Panama City, you must visit The Old City. It opens your eyes to how differently things are built today. I love the fact that you must maintain and keep the original façade of any of the buildings in this area. It is relatively safe, however not a place to wonder around at night unless you... More

It was so nice to see this old city getting some serious upgrades. There is a lot of renovation activity going off at the moment but I can promise you it is being done properly. Have lunch or even just a coffe in the beautiful American Trade Hotel, you feel like you are back in the 1920s. Take a walk around... More

Just a word of caution, while wandering the streets here, there are two attached barrios (neighborhoods) in which it is easy to stray. The likelihood of being robbed in these neighborhoods is over 90%. Often, locals will warn you, but you can't depend upon that as you might not be seen. With that said, Panama City is generally safe. Just... More

This is well worth a visit to see the old colonial style buildings, many of which have been restored. There are restaurants and bars available. Go, you won't be disappointed.

We visited during the afternoon but got lost and it became dark. The whole atmosphere changes after dark and it does not appear to be a good place to be. My husband speaks Spanish and he felt very uncomfortable until we found our way out of the area.

I like to see beautiful things, not old, dirty, narrow streets with old houses that's not taken care off. Panama is a catholic country so they pride in showing 6 old churches. I only saw 1 restaurant being seated outside in the center of the old city. Scary to buy bottle water from a vendor in a cart. Some street... More

The tall, close-standing and well-preserved buildings and numerous landmarks of the Old Panama area are interesting, and preserve much of their original charm. Lots of restaurants, bars and gift shops are interspersed among several plazas, monuments, the ruins of an old cathedral and a church with an altar plated in gold. Easy walking as the area encompasses only about a... More

Really impressive location. It looks like half of the Casco Viejo is closed or under construction. A tight building code is ensuring that construction maintains historical standards. That's fantastic for a tourist! Had lunch (great pizza and 507 beer!) at one of the smaller restaurants. I went to Catholic Mass in the Church of Our Lady of Merced. There may... More
