Bring some Mosquito Repellent, what is really cool is that Mario wil not just drive by it but get out of the car and tour it with you and show the things that are going on. Carl

It's so good to see the historical well preserved buildings, walk in narrow streets and past the President's house at night without fear.

The original restart of the City after pirates wrecked the original. Abandoned when the City rebuilt on Bayfront but thankfully being restored to its old natural Spanish style beauty. A lot more years before it is finished but a must to see. Safe, fascinating and with so much to offer. I bought a home there after my first visit. It has... More

The old Spanish part of town. Currently being rebuilt and under construction. Good Panama food and nice old architecture. Garbage in the streets...

Find yourself a good driver and spend a good day in the old town! The architecture, the construction, the people, just an amazing old part of town that you can feel to the core. It's getting a 5 star because I've been to panama several times and only this last trip I had made time to visit. If I could... More

I enjoyed shopping with all the native arts and crafts! There was SO much to look at! I am glad that we were in a large group though because it was kind of a scary area, The police station was very close by though so that was somewhat comforting.

Casco Viejo is charming in its own crumbling ways with essences of New Orleans, Cartagena and Havana all mixed in. It was fascinating to see million dollar homes literally right next door to what appeared to be dilapidated ones in state of disrepair. Never once did we not feel save as we wandered the narrow streets in the late evenings.... More

Restoration has only been under way for a few years, but already Casco Antiguo is taking on the mantle of a world-class attraction, with parts dating back to 1673. A blend of architectural styles sensitively restored and now boasting everything from squats to Government departments and the Presidential Palace. There are bars, clubs, restaurants, chafes and souvenir stalls. Masses of... More

We stayed in Casco Viejo when in Panama City, and I'm so glad we did. It has so much character and is small enough that you can feel you know it intimately. Yet still there are so many great things to do and places to eat there, and it's all so pretty!
