A Princess Cruise through the Panama Canal was truly amazing. On the Pacific side and with just a very few inches to spare on either side of the ship, we passed through three sets of locks, sailed across Gatun Lake, then passed through three more sets of locks emerging on the Pacific side. more

My father and I took the train from Panama City to Colon -- it leaves at 7:15 am. Be sure and get there at 6:30 for tickets and seats. We did a partial transit with the Canal and Bay Tour company. They were surly and rude when taking our money. At $115 each for 4 people Ps and Qs should be used.
