My husband and I took the one-day tour through part of the Panama Canal, from the Pacific side, heading north through a series of locks. It was a fascinating was to see this incredible engineering masterpiece and understand its workings. We also saw the new canal that's being built alongside the current lanes to accommodate the larger ships sailing the... More

We used Robtad´s for a customized tour in Panama, including a visit to the Panama Canal, as well as other attractions around Panama City. Roberto, who can be reached at robtads2@hotmail.com was very professional and reliable. He made the tour interesting for both adults and kids and was extremely accommodating. I would highly recommend his services if you are looking... More

Me and my boyfriend had a 10 hour lay over in Panamá, we wanted to get out of the airport and go sightseing. We went to the touristic station in the airport and asked about the tours, the guy told us that the best thing for us to do would be take a taxi that would take us to some... More

This full day tour was terrific. Boat was not overfull, visibility was good from both inside and out, food was good-warm and tasty.

Tony made our trip incredible. He does more than the Panama Canal (he can take you all over the city and outside to Casco Viejo, Canopy/Zip/Kayak Tours, Isla Grande and about 100 other places). Tony took us to his own home and treated us like family - treating us to fresh food and beer. He is one of the most... More

I can't imagine going through the Panama Canal except on a smaller boat -- the size allows you to experience the ups and downs of the locks, and your boat tends to be squeezed into each lock behind something super-large like a 6000-car vehicle carrier, a container ship, or even a ship-carrier. Then you really notice "your" and "their" size.... More

You really enter into the canal through a ferry. Of course you are squeezed in behind a vessel. It could be a cruiser, a tanker, a cargo ship, whatsoever, it is a WON-DER-FUL experience. Guides speak both English and Spanish and of course there are guides in many other languages. That depends on the groups of people on board the... More

Six friends were guided by Roberto Whittaker of Robtad's (robtads2@hotmail.com) from our cruiseship at Colon to Gatun Locks where we watched from a visitors pavilion as ships went both up and down the set of locks. As a marine engineer he gave us insights into the construction and operations of the existing canal, in particular the working of the massive... More

Our two day stop in Panama City was part of a December Cruise from San Diego to Lima, Peru. After looking at the cruise ship's options we decided to search elsewhere. Tony (Antonio) Rocha's name came up on the Internet as someone reliable and knowledgeable about the city and surroundings. Passengers are tendered in to shore at Flamenco Marina, Panama... More

Booked our partial tour on-line with Canal and Bay Tours for $135.They must pay $3500 for a special canal pilot who takes over for the boat captain in order to transit the canal so we thought it was a reasonable price. It would not be easy to find the departure point for the person with a rental car because we... More
