A fun day

Captain Jack was funny and informative as we saw monkeys, held a boa constrictor, kayaked, and jumped from a water fall. It was a great day.

While I admit it is fun to see Capuchin monkeys, they are pretty much trained to come to the boat when it arrives. The disappointing part of this day trip was our guide who apparently hates women and had an real attitude when it came to answering honest questions. The tour could have been much shorter- too much time just... More

Great tour! Got to experience the tropical forest up close. Kayaked on lake Gatun and saw the flora and fauna of the region

This was a fantastic day for us. We loved spending the day out in nature and seeing monkeys and alligators in the wild. There were two families who lived in Panama City and they had a great time too. One of them had been there twice before and the second was on their first trip but were going to back.... More

Unless you have a lot of natural padding, bring something to sit on (a fluffy towel would work). The seating on the boat is very firm and it was quite uncomfortable after a few hours. That said, the trip was enjoyable to be on the canal in a small boat. The monkeys were fun (even if trained). We did see... More

Our trip and guide was just like the brochure had advertised. We saw crocodiles, iguana, sloth, monkeys, and plenty of different bird species. The guide was very knowledgeable about the canal, ships, and wildlife. It was wonderful to see so much undeveloped rainforest protected for the wildlife. The guide and boat driver were very patient in waiting for the wildlife... More

Okay, if you expect close encounter with wild animals this tour might be a disappointment for you. But if you're looking for a relaxing day outside the city it is a good option. You get a glimpse of the Canal when driving to Gamboa and when cruising Gatun Lake. Big container vessels pass by. When we got the floating house... More

When I think of a "Jungle Tour" I envision seeing lots of tropical birds (parrots, Tucans, etc) snakes, and monkeys IN THE WILD! As it turned out we saw no more than 3 monkeys that had obviously been trained to come upon calling them in exchange for peanuts and bananas. The only parrot, snake, and Tucan that we saw were... Captain Carl gives a big value to this very complete, fun and interesting tour on Lake Gatun. The kids had a lot of fun kayaking through the forest and jumping from a small waterfall. Navigating in the middle of the big boats cruising the Panama Canal is an amazing experience and the arrival at Carl's lodge a nice surprise. It... More

Our whole family went on this adventure and it was a real crowd pleaser. The drive to the boat ramp in Gamboa takes about 40 minutes, from there you leave the troubles of the world behind. Captain Carl is a character with jokes as corny as those on the Disneyland Jungle Cruise. He also has wonderful information about the canal,... More
