Prior to going on the Embera village visit we were concerned that we (tourists) would be exploiting a native people or that the villagers would simply be exploiting us (for $). As it turns out the experience was neither. The villagers seemed happy to see us and genuinely interested in teaching us about their culture, lifestyle, etc. It was not... More

Do you want an experience that feels like you are in the midst of a National Geographic photo spread? Then go with Ann Gordon to visit an Embera village in Panama. A totally delightful experience, best done with a small group. A full day experience. Lunch is included. More

Ann Gordon's tour to the Embera Indian Village was extremely well organized and professionally executed. We were staying at the Gamboa Rain Forest Resort with my daughter, her husband and their boys, ages 3.5 and 1.5 yr. old. The trip was arranged ahead of time, through Ellie who answered all our questions immediately. Ann picked us up in her air... More

We went to this village on a tour about midway through our visit to Panama. At first we were not going to go because we don't usually like visiting a group of people where we feel thay have to "perform" for the visitors. However, many told us we should go. It was very good. You travel down the river in... More

This time I included a trip with Anne Gordon to the Embera Village up the Chagres River. 5 of us joined a few others in a huge dugout cayuka operated... More

This is a fantastic tour that should not be missed. Our tour guide Annie is from the United States and married an Embera man a few years ago. The dugout canoe trip is beautiful and exciting, but the most important part of the trip is the Embera people themselves. They are warm and beautiful people. Their philosophy and way of... More

We purchased this tour from our cruise line just because it was the only one they had left, thinking it was going to be blah....how wrong were we! This was the highlight of our whole cruise trip! You take an air-conditioned bus trip (1 hour) with a very knowledgable tour guide to a jungle area where a few Embera tribemen... More

This is not a bad review to the Embera Indian Village, but to a part of the Embera Indian Village local day tour. My boyfriend and I joined a day tour with http://gopanamaonline.com on Jul 2. We hiked into the natural pool with waterfall with a villager and a tour guide (same as the waterfall where photos were taken and... More

I booked a private tour with Anne Gordon to visit an Embera Village while on a Panama Canal cruise. Ellie, the Tour Coordinator handled the booking for me, she was a delight to work with. She promptly replied to emails and answered questions thoroughly. I hope to visit her one day on another trip to Panama. Anne warmly greeted our... More
