During our week stay in Panama city we just had to get out on the canal and do some fishing. If you have never been boating in the open areas of the canal, that is an experience in and of itself. Throw in a great hand made lunch, beverages and some fishing and you have a day to remember. Our... More

We got picked up early in Panama City and shuttled to marina for a full morning of Peacock Bass fishing on Lake Gatun. Our boat ride started with a couple of detours along the isolated shores to experience two different types of monkeys. It was so much fun to have them jump in the boat and be so close. We... More

We went for Gatun lake for a day for fishing peacock bass. Bite was not on but we get some fishes and one nice one. They provided gears but those where not in the best conditions - ok but not in best shape. If you have own travel rod - bring it with you. Boat was ok and also our... More

This is one of the most exciting fishing trips I've ever been on. We got to feed wild monkeys, and wild crocodiles along with catching Peacock bass in the famous Lake Gatun. A local family owned restaurant prepared our fish for lunch and it was awesome (normally, I don't eat fish). I highly recommend that you put this trip on... More

We were picked up at our hotel in downtown Panama City in the early morning. Our guide Carlos Delacruse was exactly on schedule. We had a super good time on the canal and in Gatun Lake fishing. We caught lots of Peacock Bass and we had two awesome surprise encounters with some of the local fauna. WOW! Our captain was... More

Last week my wife and I retraced the steps of a trip I made with friends 2 years ago. This time Rich, the owner, took us on a wonderful and humorous tour of Panama City. The next day, Carlos whisked us off by boat to see lots of different monkeys and birds in the jungle adjoining the Panama Canal, which... More

Abellardo picked us up right on time at our hotel, and 40 minutes later, the Captain pushed us off from the dock and up the Canal we went to Lake Gatun, Fished with small live minnows and small hooks for what turned out to be plentiful but not overly large peacock bass....they are beautiful and fight hard...a fight similar to... I got picked up at my hotel by both Rich (the owner) and Daniel (the fishing guide), both Americans and then we headed off to the canal's sport marina. After meeting Chimbe (boat captain) and getting loaded up on the boat, we took off seeing the sights and then after about 20-30 minutes we started fishing. Peacock Bass are pretty... More

We took a full day trip with Panama Canal Fishing tours. We spent the morning fishing and the afternoon at the Miraflores Locks. Our guide Randy was very personable and knowledgeable about the culture, area, and fly fishing. Fishing on Lake Gatun was beautiful and we caught some peacock bass, one over three pounds. They were very accommodating and we... More
