This is a whole area of Panama that is rather upscale with lots of highrises and condos not far from Panama City. Lovely wide flat roads with good sidewalks, lots of trees, great shopping and services.

Horrible traffic completely congested at 5:00 pm you will wait for hours just trying to get out of the area But since Panama has now the PanaPass, only the rich will be able to use the corridor, because you can't pay as you go.

Costa del Este is not just a residential area. It is a combination of office spaces, retail establishments, schools and residential spaces. It is accessible through the South toll road or known as the Corregidor Sur but it also has access to city without passing through the toll. The residential areas are divided into apartments buildings and gated communities. There... More

My husband and I searched several areas in Panama City which included Punta Pacifica, Paitilla, San Francisco, Obarrio, and El Cangrejo. After visiting Costa del Este, I knew right away that this is the place I wanted us to make our purchase. Costa del Este reminds me alot of Florida. It's like the peaceful home away from home. Being a... More

This is a fairly new residential area outside of the city which has now invited several large companies to build their skyscrapers! So now it is starting to look like a miniature Panama City. From the beautiful gated community to the 60 story condo buildings and now commercial buildings as well. You will find a few restaurants, grocery stores, etc.... More

This is all relatively new construction, largely more expensive shops like gourmet supermarkets, coffee shops and hair salons, but mostly chains including Arrocha drugstore and Subway. This is not real Panama---but there is ample parking everywhere and traffic is good. I wouldn't waste my time as a tourist there. It is an upscale housing plan built on reclaimed land less... More

This is one of the few places in Panama city that has been planned property. It mainly an high-end location for leading Panamanian and multinational companies. It also has gated communities for the rich. This is an extension to the modern Panama city.

Costa del Este is a housing area. There are the usual shops at the entrance such as a supermarket pharmacy and a few other shops. There is nothing special here.
