Excellent service to take a trip out to Contadora in the Las Perlas island chain off the coast of Panama. The ship leaves from the Balboa Yacht Club at 7:30 am and return from Isla Contadora at 3:30 pm. The round trip cost is $90 and well worth the price as the ship gets you there in 90 minutes and... This is best fast trip to get excellence beaches near Panama City. One hour and half sailing with ferry you get to Contadora Island, the mainly island in Archipelago of Las Perlas. Heed the opportunity during august thru october, the whale watching season.

I would not in anyway dissuade anyone from visiting this Island and it is of course a great base for visiting the other islands however I think its best to not ignore the fact that the this particular island is hitting a low spot. Its very sad to see the sides of the roads heavily littered with plastic water bottles,... More

W visited for. Couple of days contadora island. Nice island, quiet relax and good quality of beaches. We stayed at contadora island inn, good quality for price. Nice staff and nice room . However in October the worst experience was the trip by las perlas ferry. Avoid it! No professional at all. We took 4 hours instead hour and a... More

There are over 200 islands in the archipelago. A few that are fun to visit are... Contradora, the most populated, has been on a downward spiral since the resort closed in 2009. Several of the beaches are maintained and kept clean but most are not. There are a few hotels but I highly recommend a day trip so that you... More

I recently visited at The Point hotel on Contadora Island, which we used as a based to explore Las Perlas. On our first day we took their trip to Bartolome Island for a day at the beach. While the beach was beautiful, it didn't compare to the wildlife tour we took the next morning. We were fascinated by the dolphins... More

The Archipelago of Las Perlas is definitely the easiest and most beautiful beach and nature destination in Panama. There are now 3 ferry transport options to the islands, the Point Hotel has just set new cost effective, adventures with naturalists as guides. The beaches are wonderful and we hope to be back to in the Whale season. A new destination Casaya... More

This is great !!! You can rent a motor boat with a local guide or sail around the Perlas, any choice is great, you can visit a lots of beaches around any of the islands and find that yours are the only footprints on the beach, this is awesome, snorkeling is great, but the best ... the dolphins just jumping... Contadora Island in the remarkable Perlas Archipelago is only a fifteen minute flight from Panama City, Panama, but it's a world away even if you go for the day. Gerald's Restaurant is German-owned and has hands-down the best fish I've ever had in my life--the corvina was to simply die for (I had fried, my wife had al criolla) and... More
