Lago de Apoyo is a place where to come to calm down, ease your stress level and enjoy the lake. The water is fresh water and it is extremely warm. You can do kayaking, yoga, hiking, swimming etc. There is not much more to see than the lake and it's surroundings so choose a b&b or hostel what you prefer... More

One of these very beautiful places in Nicaragua. The water is not too cold and not salty, the place full of plants and at different locations you can rent boots, stay in hotels or restaurants, go for a swim etc.

The sight of the quaint village on the way to the lagoon. Serene views of the lagoon from the lookout point. A craft market with the usual colourful items at reasonable prices.

Very relaxing, you will find swimming, kayaking etc in the blue waters of the lake. The water is surround on all sides by jungle apart from a couple of lodges and hostels on the waters edge, this place feels like you are miles from civilization.

We spent the afternoon at Laguna de Apoyo Beach Club and had a wonderful time. Swam in the lake, had a wonderful lunch...yummy and watched the sun set before our driver picked us up. It was beautiful and very relaxing there. A nice break away from the bustle of Granada. This is a must while visiting. Start at the top... More

First of all this is much closer to Granada and Masaya than Managua, so it should be listed under things to do in Granada for a day. It's in between Masaya and Granda and is a beautiful little get away. We went to a beach club in the national park, this was good because they have drinks and food and... More

No garbage on the beach. Nice beach club. $6USD got you beach access with access to food and beverage brought to you. A very pleasant way to spend a day.

These are the most blue waters I've ever seen! The waters were comfortable, relaxing, east to swim or kayak in, and the area was not crowded, even with the other hotels and their beaches nearby.

Such a gorgeous lagoon to swim in and I felt safe with our two young girls splashing around in the shallow areas because I know there's no crazy creatures to worry about! We spent a night away at Casa Aromannse which we would highly recommend for getting the most out of your relaxing time. I preferred Laguna de Apoyo way... More

We went to San Simian to use their facilities. Take a right at the bottom of the hill and go almost to the end. ($5 pp all day use of tubes, kayaks, bathrooms, loungers) While San Simian was just mediocre, the Crystal Clear waters of the Laguna more than made up for it. It's bathtub warm, and a pleasure to...
