Visited this lake (view from above) as a part of our organized tour from the Decameron Salinitas hotel in Salvador a few yrs ago. It's the best lake view I have ever seen! It's in the mountains, and I believe the whole lake is in a volcano crator, the water is this AMAZING blue colour. (There IS a differenece -... More

We stayed at the home of a friend on the lake and had a blast! The lake is a beautiful blue and my son and I spent many hours kayaking along. There are not many services available and the road connecting places makes it hard to get anywhere if you are not immediately near the few restaurants. So bring what... More

I hired a driver for a day to take me around for the day and we stopped for lunch at a restaurant overlooking this beautiful lake. So pretty.

It is really a very nice place, but i think it is not open to public, you have to be invited . The lake is surrounded by nice houses. And it looks really nice.

We rode jet skis there. Great time. Water is really clean! There is a nice bar/restaurant there. Also, some locals are there selling souvenirs for dirt cheap.

I went on a special tour booked through Villa Del Angel, to see the lake and enjoy a good meal. The food was great, despite the fact I cannot eat any fresh produce, due to food poisoning. But very reasonable prices! For $14.50 I could get a big pile of steak bites as an appy, a delicious chicken and mushroom... More

If you are a nature lover, particularly sceneries, this is the place to be. The place will be great if its not cloudy as you will have a great view of the islets within the lake.

This lake is probably the most beautiful in El Salvador, great sights in a cool, relaxing climate. The lake shores however are mostly privately owned, and lakefront resorts are somewhat decaying with premium prices for inconsistent, poor service. The best option would be to rent a private property (many available for small periods). Besides this, the lake is truly breathtaking... More
