There are a number of restaurants along the road where you can sit on the patio and enjoy a beer or smoothie after a... More

We seemed to miss what was so great about this. The restaurants were expensive , so we found a place for smoothies . We jumped off the dock and swam a bit , then headed back . Chill day

This volcanic lake is breathtaking. I went there with some local friends who have a beach house. The weather was good and the view is perfect. I went water-skiing (jet skis are also available) and had a lot of fun. If you visit El Salvador, this is a must.

Lake Coatepeque is a nice volcanic lake located northwest from San Salvador, easy high way drive. You will enjoy your stay there in case if you renting a villa (house) for a cole nights. It costs about 400-600$. Otherwise it's almost impossible to get and stay there without renting because all facilities and houses are private. There is no (almost)... More

Lake Coatepeque is a gorgeous crater lake, but since most of the shorefront access is dominated by private homes, it's hard to enjoy the lake without staying with friends who are locals. Once you're there, though, the lake is a thoroughly enjoyable experience. Having gone many times over the past 30 years, I've been saddened to see how the lake... More

It is an amazing destination because I had contact with nature and the different species of plant which I never have seen before. I tried a delicious dishes and local food. Making a plot it is a good destination that I invite to visit

Visited this lake (view from above) as a part of our organized tour from the Decameron Salinitas hotel in Salvador a few yrs ago. It's the best lake view I have ever seen! It's in the mountains, and I believe the whole lake is in a volcano crator, the water is this AMAZING blue colour. (There IS a differenece -... More

We stayed at the home of a friend on the lake and had a blast! The lake is a beautiful blue and my son and I spent many hours kayaking along. There are not many services available and the road connecting places makes it hard to get anywhere if you are not immediately near the few restaurants. So bring what... More

I hired a driver for a day to take me around for the day and we stopped for lunch at a restaurant overlooking this beautiful lake. So pretty.
