We enjoyed a day trip with our guide, Edwin Carillo. Lovely forest, coffee growing areas and scenery.

Great view and quick drive up to the volcano. Many nice restaurants to stop by on the way up or down.

Easy drive up the volcano from San Salvador with a very short walk to tje crater. Its not earth shatteringly brilliant but worth a look.

We drove high up and with a clear day got a great view. The crater itself is sort of interesting. The information center is weak. Salvadorian tourism is in its infancy.

I saw this place on google earth and was intrigued that I could see to the bottom of this crater. I visited to see the size of it and was not disappointed. The ride up the mountain is enjoyable and you can feel the temperature drop to a comfortable level. You can enjoy many amazing views of the city below... More

This volcano, which dominates the capital city of San Salvador, makes this one of the most unique cities in the world. You see it from everywhere you go in the city; the views of it are spectacular. But none is more amazing than the view up close in this park at the top of the volcano. Not only do you... More

Inspired by the volcanic history of Joya Ceren, we decided to detour up Volcano San Salvador, to see El Boqueron, on our way to the city. We passed a massive lava field of black rocks, a rock hewed flood, on our way before we wiggle up the mountain passing coffee fincas and miradors along the way. At the top it's... More

Love everything about this place! It is for nature lovers who want to hike. Hiked up only for a little while, and the area has many restaurants, the best one is La Pampa. You should go up and see the sun set to escape the heat!

Nice little hike with a great view. Temperature was a nice change from the city. It was neat to see the crater. Parking is terrible however and very little. Nice thing is there are several good resturants near by.
