This is an incredible structure to see, interesting intersection of art and religious iconography. The unusual shaped walls are comprised of many colors of glass in a rainbow that is quiet stunning.

These words ring true when it comes to this church. The outside of the building is not very appealing and looks more like a warehouse. When you walk inside, you are greeted by an explosion of color! The sunlight coming through the stained glass windows creates a beautiful rainbow effect. It was nice to sit and take a few moments... More

It has a special air to it, located right in the historical city center of San Salvador where so many things of historical significance have occurred, most recently during the armed conflict.

Don't judge by the outside of the building. Very plain but beautiful place. Mac from mayatriangle.com provided great insight to the history of the area and the church.

This is an light filled oasis in the middle of an ugly capital city. Very very different to most Catholic churches in the country. Contemporary and gorgeous.

Very moving. Very beautiful. Take a guide or read up on it first, there is so much thought, meaning, and history in place.

Im not the person that visits churches, but I had read in tripadvisor about this place, and I thought I really needed to come here and have a little of the magical ambiance that you can feel here...I loved it, would definitely come back if I return to El Salvdaor.

Most unique church that I've ever been to - the inside/outside juxtaposition is a metaphor for the entire country.

I was kind of hesitant to go inside, since the outside was not very... attracting. But once I went in, WOW! it is beautiful. I sat there for a few minutes and took it all in. This church has history. During the massacre they had during the civil war, this is one of the places people ran into to hide.

El Rosario can be seen in many ways. On the outside it is rather ugly, all concrete and unpromising. Once you step inside, though, you are in a grotto of rainbows and the effect is serene and beautiful. The stations of the cross are compelling, even for a non-Catholic, and worth time standing in contemplation of each. To go to... More
