This is the place where Archbishop Romero was murdered. Its a very modern building and has an exceptional via crucis inside.

A short walk from the National Cathedral, this church is worth a visit mainly due to it's history during the civil war. Unusual architecture for El Salvador. People are very nice. Not a place I would make a special trip to see, but if you are in the area visiting Romero's tomb at the National Cathedral ask for directions and... More

The church is in el centro and doesn't look like much from the outside. The inside, however, is stunning. The way the colors and lights from the windows play across the arch shaped ceiling is truly impressive, and worth the trip to see.

the church is in the center of El Salvador, the location is a bit tricky to get to and from the outside does not seem so incredible, but when you enter the church you can see a unique masterpiece, stained glass windows form a rainbow that is reflected in the floor, and there are artworks that relate the death of... The way the church is later out is in purpose. The glass, shape, the way the benches are placed, everything is done on purpose. The direction the church was built to match the sunrise and sun set, the beautiful lights on the sides that go from blue to red represent the sun rise and sunset on both sides. Overall its... More

As many have remarked, the exterior of this church does not exactly inspire or invite. Once in, however, the modern stained glass glows brilliantly. On a sunny morning, it can be dazzling. Designed by sculptor Rubén Martinez, it is an unusual break from the colonial or quasi-colonial architecture. The Stations of the Cross are also his work. Challenge yourself to... More

There have been only a handful of moments in my life when I have been genuinely surprised by something. This is one of them! Pulling up to the Rosary Church and its shabby exterior, the first thing I said to myself was "I came all the way to the crowded and polluted center of San Salvador for this?!" How wrong... More

the stained glass windows let in the most beautiful hues of the rainbow. I was told that the artist didn't have money or a budget to créate the stations of the cross so they aré madre from scrap steel from other civic projects and concrete. Meaningfully simple.

We stopped here as part of a day long tour of San Salvador. From the outside, we weren't sure what the building actually was-- but when we entered, it was so beautiful and unique! The stained glass, the rounded and arched structure --- and the art inside created with salvaged materials was very unique!! We were glad to have stopped... More

We visited this church about 4pm - light was coming in the stain glass from the west - beautiful. As others have said, it would be hard to find an uglier looking building. It reminds one of a very old railway station that had seen much better days. We were told by the city guide that the priest wanted to... More
