From the outside, Iglesia El Rosario looks like a dump. You can't even tell it has nice windows. On the inside, the colors from the stained shine so bright and make a huge rainbow over the whole 'saddledome' shaped building. It is a magical building to just sit in silence and stare in awe at it's beauty, whether or not... More

After spending the last three years in L America I thought I saw enough churches (and I have) but this one was worth adding to the list. It is unassuming from the outside and located in a sketch area, but we cruised down in the daytime and didn't have any problems. I parked right in front and was able to... More

Should stop by and check out the wonderful interior of this operating church. Check out the unique pieces of arts from local artists. A real treasure for San Salvador.

nothing attractive from new outside but beautiful inside. "vitrales" are exceptional beauty, natural light going thru glass windows that make it a breath taking view. No too many "statues" as an a regular catholic temple, but the Via Crucis ( Way of the Cross) and the "Santisimo" Chapel are unique.. No or almost no parking spaces available on the side..... More

Very beautiful church. Interior is breathe taking. The property is surrounded by a giant flee market. I did not use a tour guide and that was a mistake. I'd recommend you use a tour guide for all the sites you wish to visit in San Salvador because the country is not known for tourism.

I really loved la Iglesia El Rosario - it is truly unlike any church I've ever been in. It is very simple, ugly from the outside, but beautiful on the inside. As others have noted, and my Salvadoran friends never tire of telling me, it is in a very unsafe area. There is a parking lot for the church that... More

A short walk from the National Cathedral, this church is worth a visit mainly due to it's history during the civil war. Unusual architecture for El Salvador. People are very nice. Not a place I would make a special trip to see, but if you are in the area visiting Romero's tomb at the National Cathedral ask for directions and... More
