A deeply moving experience. Everything in this church is so closely related to El Salvador's cruel history - bullet holes in the walls and gates from Civil War times, artefacts made of war material, Stations of the Cross symbolized by hands only... On the other hand, a place full of divine joy and hope...The light breaking through the multicoloured windows... More

If you love Jesus, take your Bible it's a great place to get pray, read your Bible and reflect. Disliked: location (Centro San Salvador, watch your pockets and only go during day time), crowded, don't go by pubic transportation (please take a... More

We understand that this church was built in 1979 and is very unique in its design as a Catholic Cathedral. The architect designed it so that it is practically all lit by artificial light and there are only 4 or 5 electric lights in the whole place. As well the sculptures are from left over rebar and nails, and the symbolism in... It is a large, unimpressive looking cement building from the exterior. However, the stained glass interior was very unique and different.

Worth a short stop. Near other city sights and we saw it in 10 minutes. The inside is very different.

Interesting structure, stunning stained-glass ceiling, amazing sculpture, a must see, the area is a bit messy though, need to take regular precautions in the neighborhood ie no flashy watches, cameras

This is an incredible structure to see, interesting intersection of art and religious iconography. The unusual shaped walls are comprised of many colors of glass in a rainbow that is quiet stunning.

These words ring true when it comes to this church. The outside of the building is not very appealing and looks more like a warehouse. When you walk inside, you are greeted by an explosion of color! The sunlight coming through the stained glass windows creates a beautiful rainbow effect. It was nice to sit and take a few moments... More

It has a special air to it, located right in the historical city center of San Salvador where so many things of historical significance have occurred, most recently during the armed conflict.
