A visit to the National Philharmonic house of Ukraine is a treat to melomaniacs like myself. At a petty price you can enjoy variety of decent, and even world-class performance of chamber and symphonic music, concert adoption of operas, solos as well as festivals and many more. Sadly, due to the latest escalation of unrest in the area, all concerts... More

At an incredible £7 we had a very good evening of quality music with a good range of both solo performance and orchestral works, quite a nice hall but the interval was a bit rushed

World-class orchestra playing in a lovely, intimate concert hall. Top ticket runs about $12.50 to $15 - an incredible bargain compared to what you would pay in Vienna or Paris.

Often referred to as the Kiev Philharmonic and the National Philharmonic, it was founded in the 19th century when cultural life in the city flourished. The hall itself was built on the European Square after a permit from the City Council was obtained in 1881. Throughout the years, it has hosted a substantial amount of Russian composers such as Sergei... More

Excellent chamber orchestra in comfortable surroundings - very knowledgeable audience. Surprisingly small for a National venue in such a musical country but lovely and intimate nonetheless

They play in an old and nice building close to the city center (different from the Opera House ...). You cannot buy tickets by internet (os at least I did not discover how ...) and you have to go and buy them to the ticket booth at the premises. Concert (flute + piano) was outstanding. Get there if you like... More

This old merchant's exchange was transformed into a symphony hall. In addition to its charming interior... and you should definitely try to finagle a view of some of the reception rooms with their colorful plasterwork... it's got surprisingly fine acoustics for chamber and choral music. I saw the most fantastic Carmina Burana here years ago... have never found a recording... More
