Beautiful. It's been rebuilt but the history of the building is special, so go with a guide if possible. THere's a great view of this church from the bell tower of St. Sophia. Ladies, bring a scarf to cover your head if you wish to enter, and where a long skirt/dress (no knees).

I visited Ukraine in January in the thick of winter when snow levels were very high. This Cathedral stands out as a beautiful building near St. Sophia's Cathedral but it is much smaller. Also, it is quieter as it gets less tourists

I very much liked the Cathedral; very impressive. There's also a small chapel in the garden of the cathedral which has the wooden roof, unfortunately don't remember the name, definitely worth a visit.

This is a beautiful looking cathedral from afar--the cathedral is painted a light blue and has beautiful golden domes. However, as you get closer, you can see that the paint needs repair and, once inside, it is a very dark church. The altar screen is more reminiscent of a Russian Orthodox Church than any other church we visited in Kiev.

The painted icons inside are amazing. Highly recommended. If you went to Saint Sophia, you aren't far from here.

this will only take a minutes to see this truly magnificent church. it is perched on top of a hill and is impossible to miss as you either drive to or from the airport, i highly recommend that you take the time to walk up the hill because the views and the church are truly amazing

It's a real cathedral. It was re-built after complete destroying. You can feel real ambience of orthodox church inside. Note that this cathedral provided asylum to the people attacked by "Berkut" and militia during "Revolution of Dignity" in 2014-2015. Tip: don't forget to dress properly, it's a cathedral.

This Cathedral has been destroyed and rebuilt more than once. I believe, but am not certain, that the Germans did a pretty good job of wrecking it during WWII (the Great Patriotic War). Although it's not original, the buildings purport to follow the original structures. It is located on a hill and is proximate to both the InterContinental and Hyatt... More

Built in the Ukranian Baroque style, he original Cathedral and Monastery was destroyed during and after WWII, but it has been restored during the past 20 years ( largely through donations from Mafia bigwigs who want to buy their way into Heaven, I was told). The gold-leaf-covered domes are pear-shaped. rather than the onion-shape of Russian Orthodox churches. In some... More
