This street from the Maidain can start a road of shopping that extends through the city. There are many brand name stores and cafes that are popular to meet people. At night you can find the discos by just following the music. Lately, near the Maidain it has some military volunteers on it and some strange peoples from time to... More

A typical wide Soviet-styled Prospekt with amazing architecture on each side...with that said, Kiev abounds with amazing buildings. Khreshchatyk Street has many eateries and western style stores and galleries. The closer you get to Independence Square you start to run into the souvenier stands and curbside eateries. Personally I would like to see the full street return to normal and... More

Our review is based on our visit in October 2013. We (a couple) had a very good time sitting at one of the benches at this pretty street (at odd number side) surrounded by tall buildings built right after WWII. Even that these buildings are not New York's skyscrapers, their architecture style, size and greatness still wonder you. On this... More

In peace time, it is a lovely street which has a lot to offer with respect to shopping, enjoying good food at several restaurant outlets, and is especially beautiful at Christmas time. However, since November 2013, this street has been transferred to a political platform against the pro-Russian President who was routed out after a very bloody scene on this... More

That's a main street in Kiev with many world-known chain of shops, cafes and restaurants. This place has been dramatically changed since Euromaidan, now you'll find there tent city. It's not anymore fun place. You may come there to experience past protests and honor people who died because of Yanukovich regime

The place itself is very pretty and interesting (people, places, architecture, etc). But right now with Maidan events so fresh it is even more strong experience to walk by. I you can have a known local to explain you everything that just happened would be even more enriching to know about the local culture and Maidan.

The Khreschatyk in the last 5 months has been the center of the EuroMaydan Revolution, which started with a FB message from a journalist saying Ukrainians should come out to protest the former president's refusal to sign the EU Association agreement in November 2013, which was a complete turnaround in policy. Millions of people eventually took to the streets, specifically... More

This is to me one of the greatest boulevards of the world.....on my last first visit I was stunted, finding it more impressive than even the Champs Elysees or the Ku'damm! On weekend evenings the street is close to traffic for all sorts of entertainment to take place like a big playground. I am here this time (April 2014) when... More
