We spent a couple of days in Kiev in september 2014. Peace in the town, though in the city everything makes us to remember of the last winter's history. The people are enthusiastic, they don’t want war, but they certainly don’t like Putin! Everything is painted to blue-yellow. The whole town is beautiful, with a chaotic traffic for a European.... I thought this was interesting to see. There were many stores along this street. Also there are many musicians and street performers here. So it's worth checking out.

The area is restored to pre Feb. conditions. Always a fun place to people watch, grab a café and do a bit of shopping.

Closed to traffic at the weekend - this is a beautiful street to wander & mingle with the citizens of Kiev. I found the city friendly & welcoming and safe, too - but the memorials around the Maidan & Independence Square are heartbreaking - stop a moment and pray..........

The recent Maidan revolution make Kreshatik even more inspiring. Pedestrian over the weekend, beautiful for a walk, see some of the high end shops and at evening enjoy some concerts.

The transformation from the days of the revolution has been erased and a face lift is happening - just in time for Independence Day celebrations on August 24:)

This was interesting. Here is where you can find many shops and restaurants. I also saw many tents and remnants from the protests in the Maidan square. It's sort of eerie and I wouldn't go to the Maidan square at night.
