This is the heart of Belgrade in my opinion. You cannot miss it. Everything begins here - meetings with local people, tour guides, sightseeing walks, everything. Knez Mihailova and Skadarlija Str. are nearby, as well as the National Theatre, National Museum, Terazije and the "Moscow" Hotel.

This is the real center spot of Belgrade. Here is the meeting place of the locals. Here starts the pedestrian street, here are the most popular coffee shops and restaurants and here were political and social demonstrations.

Not a great deal to distinguish this from any other square in any other capital.I tried to walk from there back to the National Museum Of Siberian History.I tried 3 different directions without success and gave up.Problem is that although you may have a map, there are very few street signs.Extremely unhelpful.

Several main roads and little street meet on this square, giving home to the national theatre, an equestrian statue, and a bus station as well. Knez Mihailova starts from here, can be a good basis for city walks. Some popular modern eateries and bars can be found on the square.

A square that no large but relatively crowded at any time of day. You can stop and visit... More

This is the main square in Belgrade. It has a nice view of the people's theater and national museum of Belgrade. People here use this square as a meeting point whenever they want to hook up with friends, even visitors start using it as such because of the tradition here :) The bars around this square are a bit expensive,... The main city square covers the space between City cafe, cinemas; Adriatic the National Theatre and Army of Serbia. The present square was formed after the demolition Stambol Gate (1866) and the construction of the National Theatre (1869). Stambol Gate, built by the Austrians in the early 18th century, was located between the monument to Prince Mihailo and the National... More

My stay in Belgrade was one of the most pleasant in Europe! It is not a country that is visited frequently like other countries in Europe, hence, only two reviews about Republic Square. The currency exchange provides with amazing meals and comfortable stay in Belgrade. I will definitely visit again! The night I was by the square there were some... More
