Zoo located in a monumental place, Kalemegdan

The zoo isn't anything special, a bit smell, however my daughter loved it and the walk through Kalemegdan is breathtaking

This is a terrible zoo, and the animals suffer in the cages. We did not have a good time in there, and i will not recommend others to go there, and support the place. This review is created by a dane, and i put it up against the Zoo in Copenhagen, which i think is taking very good care of... More

The zoo is surrounded by a wonderful wall full of animal images made out of tiny stones, a mosaic. It must have taken them ages to finish it and it is wonderful! It is a must see building placed on the side of a heel so it has ups and downs. I never entered the zoo though!

Every year we return to this special place in the heart of the city. And we spent great time there walking and learning about the animals. Kids simply adore it.

Zoos are not to everyone's liking and this zoo wont convert anyone but I found the Citadel and park a bit underwhelming - the zoo is adjacent and worth a look . We were killing a few hours in Belgrade before catching an overnight train . The zoo is a very good diversion and actually has some unusual animals but... More

It's a nice place, a nice park but ONLY for humans.. I felt terrible seeing the animals in so small cages...I remember the wolves were in very small cages, they looked miserable. Also it was too hot for some animals. There was a poor bear she was breathing heavily under the hot sun, you could see she was suffering.. I... More

Not very clean and not so comfortable for all animals. The location is great for people, because it only takes 10 minutes on foot from the main square, but the street next to the Zoo is very noisy, so it's not that great for animals whose cages are close to the street... Other, quieter parts of the zoo are better... More

Some of the cages are small and uncomfortable. I was suprised, that in cages were dogs (?) and water was somewhere dirty. You can find here a lot of kinds of animals and its nice place for walk.

I am entirely against zoos and therefore I give this one a 3. This is the place that I frequented with my family while I was a kid and we had amazing times there. The veriaty of animals is great and what adds more fun is the fact that the zoo is situated in the Kalemegdan Fortress.
