I never even went into the Belgrade zoo ( time did not permit me to visit ) but I did take many photos as well as walked around the delightful stone wall of the zoo covered in mosaics of as many animals as one could think of. It's worth 5 stars just for this beautiful wall surrounding the zoo !

As a zoo keeper working in a zoo in England I was horrified and deeply saddened by the state of this zoo. Most of the animals are housed alone or with only one companion and in the cases of wolves these are pack animals and shouldnt be on their own. Enclosures were small and dirty looking. The animals had very... More

Belgrade Zoo is situated in the centre of the city in Kalemegdan Park, its one of the oldest zoos in Europe. The zoo has a large number of animals representing many different species considering its quite small in size. Some of the enclosures due to the size of the zoo and way its been built aren't very good in terms... More

There is uniqueness with this zoo, It is build on medieval fortress, ancient Belgrade. This is world`s one and only. I think they should move animals to more open space. But you can take a walk, Its at Kalemegdan so you will be there close by...visit St Petka Chapel, Fortress, Knez Mihajlova St. Have a nice stay! Tickets are always... More

Best zoo in Balkan The Belgrade Good Hope Garden (Serbian: Београдски врт добре наде / Beogradski vrt dobre nade) is a zoo located in Belgrade, Serbia. The zoo is situated at the very centre of the city, in Kalemegdan Park. The zoo was founded in 1936 and is one of the oldest zoos in Europe. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Belgrade_Zoo

Belgrade Zoo would probably be unexceptional if you had to go a distance to get there, but it makes a fine end to a viewing of the Danube / Sava confluence and a walk round the fortress area. With a modest cost to western pockets and a reasonably extensive range of animals, the zoo passed a couple of hours very... More

Belgrade Zoo stands on one of the most attractive city locations - the Kalemegdan fortress, only few minutes from the pedestrian street Knez Mihailova. Interesting thing is that Belgrade zoo (Beograd means White city) have a lot of rare white animals, as white tigers an lions, albino kangaroos.

The Belgrade Zoo is one of the biggest and as I've heard one of the most respecting towards the animals. The facilities were actually very good and the personnel was looking like caring about the animals. The only reason I have negative review is that I realized that I really dislike zoos (my second time in one). Proud animals (lions,... More

Belgrade Zoo animals provided early bombing warnings in 1999 against the missiles and the bombs of the U.S. (or they prefer NATO) "friends of democracy".. simple truth! The noise would start around half an hour before the bombs fall as the animals in Belgrade zoo used to pick up the sound of approaching planes and missiles. The Belgrade Good Hope... More
