The ponds are terribly dirty, the animals scrawny and not well-fed and everything is just very, very sad. I love zoos in general, but there's nothing worse than visiting one where the animals are being treated this poorly. I haven't seen worse since visiting Vietnam several years ago. :-(

Zoo is not so big but you'll get tired. There were a lot of animals that you can touch. The zoo has only one elepfant but it was so funny!!

The animals are all in tiny cages and it stinks !! They all look miserable. They were all so hot and had nowhere to hide from the heat

The location of Belgrade Zoo alongside Kalemegdon Fortress makes it unique and architecturally very special. At the same time, the older enclosures that have been built using the walls of the Fortress are some of the most appalling I have seen. In particular the polar, brown and black bears that literally live in a world of concrete and hot stone... More

Zoo has lots of great animals: liger, arctic wolves, camels...and many babes born in the zoo. Very nice conditions, I liked how anumals look in terms of care. very sociable giraffe, friendly and likes to be cuddled. I propose this place for 2-3 hours visit not only for those with kids- it was interesting even for sole business trip free... More

I often visit zoos when abroad. Some are so bad they make you sick. Delhi for simple neglect. In Cairo I saw a keeper pocketing money to tease a tiger into madness to please a man's son. The attitude to animals outside England is not always ours. In Belgrade a few parents mocked the cries of animals for the amusement... More

Don't go to this zoo. Don't support animals being imprisoned. They should be free and in the wild. The next time you look at Twiggy the elephant - watch her eyes, watch her pacing obsessively searching for some stimulation.

I rate this a 4 because I was pleasantly surprised at the condition of the zoo and also that it had clean restrooms. I have to say that I am not a zoo goer and it saddens me to see animals imprisoned but I believe that the employees of this zoo work very hard to take care of theses animals.... More

This is a difficult review to write because I did enjoy certain aspects of the zoo. There are some interesting and beautiful animals to see and I did get some amazing pictures, with my new camera. That is largely because the animals are in such small enclosures though. My new camera has a large zoom but I was surprised I... More

A beautiful maintained zoo in the middle of the Belgrade fortress in the city centre. Besides other animals you will also find albino lions and tigers. Best price / quality zoo I've ever visited. It's the must see attraction in Belgrade when traveling with kids. We are visiting Belgrade 2-3 times per year and my 6 year old son each... More
